Dr. Gary Wright Dr. Gary L. Wright opened his office of dentistry on July 9, filling a spot that had been vacant for years. He graduated from the University of Iowa dental school in June, and came to Fayette From Iowa City. Dr. Wright's office is located in the Parker building on Main street, formerly occupied by Dr. Scott Linge. His office includes the latest and most modern equipment. Leech's Motor Service Gordon Leech was recently discharged from the navy, after serving 2ty years, and opened his motor repair service in the former Howard Radio and T-V building on July 2. He held a rating of Senior Chief Electrician's Mate in the navy. Mr. Leech is formerly from Westgate, and is married to the former Helen McSweeny of Fayette. They have twin daughters. Fayette Has Gone Through A Period With Very Few Changes . . . But The Number Of New Faces In Business On Main Street During The Past Year Indicate That The Town Has Only Been Resting — Waiting For The Proper Time To Start Progressing. Apparently Now Is The Time For Progress. We Extend The Hand Of Welcome To Each Of You New Merchants, And Wish You Well. Jerry's D-X Jerry Whitcher came to Fayette from West Union, and purchased the D-X service station from Bill Swomley. He was discharged from the army on June 4, and went into business on June 21. Jerry has made many changes, both in the appearance and operation of the station, and will be an asset to the Fayette business district. Johnson Home Bakery Mrs. Eunice Johnson opened a bakery in her home at 305 South Main, the latter part of June. Her new business will once again give the Fayette residents the opportunity to purchase fresh, home baked goods ... a privilege they have not enjoyed for several years.
