BROADCAST NEWS ox 24 adds morning news By Dan Maley The Macon Telegraph Although they trail longtime leader WMAZ TV in the ratings the folks at the WGXA TV news department show no signs of giving up the fight As a matter of fact WGXA is on the offensive This week the ox affiliate launched an hour long weekday morning news program 24 News The show debuted at 7 am Monday with anchorproducer Andrea Griffith and weather man Doug Kammerer sharing camera time News AM recaps local news from ox 6 pm and 10 pm news shows gives the lat est weather shows the view from the ox 24 Tower Cam offers regional news from CNN and other ox affiliates and pre sents handy information from a rotation of local experts "News has frequent weather and news summaries so busy viewers have to watch the show from the begin ning to get the information they need "One of the things we kept in mind when we designed this program was that people in the morning sit down and watch TV they keep it on while they do other said ox 24 news director Bob Young The addition of is another step in a growing process that began two years ago when Gocom Broadcasting of Charlotte NC bought WGXA then an ABC affiliate and began
