Hurley displayed the award which had been presented to him recently by Olin president Stanley de J. Osborne, at the division heado^iarters in New Haven, Conn. The division had only eight disabling injuries during more than 12 millionman hours worked. This frequency of 0.65 disabling injuries per million hours worked is substantially below the 2.90 frequency for the entire corporation. The average frequency for all industries in the country was approximately six disabling Injuries per million man hours worked. The award was accepted by R. Floyd Bennett, East Alton ammunition plant manager for the Winchester-Western division. J. S. Kovic, director of personnel and industrial relations at the East Alton plant, introduced Hurley.
