(Staff Photo.) Young Italy boy killed Friday while playing near Milford A 13-month-old Ellis County boy is the latest traffic fatality. The victim was identified by Highway Patrolman Winifred Morgan as Aaron Thomas Janek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Janek of Route 2, Italy. It was related the accident involving the child and an automobile occurred at 5:50 p.m.

Friday on a gravel road 1.3 miles north of Milford. The patrolman said the child was playing in the road when the car driven by Theodore Wallace of Italy struck the boy. The victim was taken to Grant and Buie Hospital at Hillsboro where a Hillsboro justice of the peace pronounced him dead. An accident, which left three Midlothian residents complaining of possible whiplash injuries, occurred Saturday at 10:50 a.m. 3 miles west of Waxahachie on U.S. 287. A car driven by Edward Worsham of Midlothian and a vehicle driven by Jon Monreal of Ennis collided with Worsham and two of his passengers, Lottie Worsham which will be held May 14-29, it was noted Saturday by the Waxahachie Home Builders Assn.

The houses will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekends May 14-29 but the developments will be open daily so area residents can view the homes built or being built. The homes will be shown in various stages of construction, a spokesman stated. Those which will be shown are in the Country Club Village, Indian Hills Addition, Northgate sub-division, Royal Park Manor and I Short Additions.

Prices of the homes will range from $25,000 to $100,000. Association officials have announced that a free trip to Acapulco, Mexico, will be awarded during the Home Show here. The trip is being awarded by the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce. The trip will include three nights and four days at the Condessa del Mar Hotel. and Velda Worsham complaining of possible injuries.

They were not taken to a hospital at that time. The highway patrol reported that damage was minimal. Another accident took place south of Ennis on IH 45 at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, when vehicles driven by Ezekiel HUJ of Oklahoma City and Elsie Henderson of Dallas collided. There were no reported injuries.

McManus caught HOUSTON (UPI) A murder defendant who apparently tried to fool authorities into thinking he had been kidnaped or killed was found hiding In a Jacksonville Beach, motel Saturday and returned to Texas to continue his Interrupted trial. Vernon McManus, 33, who had been free on bond for eight months in a Baytown, murder case, disappeared last Sunday, leaving a bloodszneared car abandoned on a dirt road north of Baytown. Lone Star rodeo plans two shows here May 7-8 A Lone Star rodeo will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8 at the rodeo arena on the Howard Road at Waxahachie, it was announced Saturday. On Saturday the rodeo will be held at 3 p.m. On Sunday, May 8, the rodeo wtR start at 1:30 p.m.

The rodeo is sponsored by the County Junior Rodeo and will feature high school students. The Junior Rodeo Is a nonprofit organization, it was noted. Home show to feature 35 new residences Moisture measures .97 inch Rain which measured almost an inch in the Waxahachie area Friday night and Saturday was termed a "lifesaver" by agriculture people. More rainfall is in prospect for the area Sunday. Waxahachie recorded .07 of an inch of moisture Friday night and then added .9 of an inch during Saturday morning and afternoon for a total of .97 inch, Midlothian had .7 of an inch of moisture and Boyce recorded a half-inch of rain.

In the Boyce area the moisture was needed on the hay crop and for the gardens. The precipitation broke up the hard crust on the ground from recent rains. While the rain was good for the land, flowers, the crops and the gardens, it welcomed at Richards Park Friday night where the Waxahachie Indians entertained the Lancasters Tigers. The grandstand, which lost its roof several years ago, offered no protection to fans who had to rely on umbrellas, raincoats of whatever to keep from getting soaked. The game was played, many viewed the diamond action from underneath the grandstand and best of all the Indians won a 9-1 decision.

The low Saturday morning was 63 degrees. The forecast for Sunday calls for a chance of thunderstorms with the probability of precipitation being 30 per cent. Severe thunderstorms, brought into the state by warm southerly moisture from the Gulf, pounded deep South Texas Saturday, dumping hail and heavy rain on the area. A thunderstorm at Brownsville produced golf ball sized hail and flash flooding. Corpus Christi received 4.17 inches of rain in thunderstorms that warranted special marine warnings further up the coast.

No damage was reported in the violent weather. Severe weather warnings also were issued for Stephens County in North Central Texas as the system moved north and east through the state. During the day, rain fell in a wide area of East and Central Texas. The rest of the state reported fair or partly cloudy skies. Mother's Day gifts Next Sunday is Mother's Day in the United States.

RIDE IN PARADE District officials of Veterans of Foreign Wars rode in the Loyalty Day parade held Saturday afternoon in the downtown area of Waxahachie.
