Ho.) Upper DM Metott T«Mtday, DM. 1), 1966 ACTION AT A.H.S. BY ESTEBAN The High School librarians were treated to their annual party last Wednesday evening. The librarians include Sandra Walker, Jerry Jo Sires, Becky Devine, Lois Hentges, Susan Engelbarts, Linda Lovstad, Cyndi Schumacher, Kathy Wibben, Sherry Kramer, Helen Moe, Carol Stebbins, Susan Kent, Ulliari Gisch, Dixie Crail, Pam Werts and Bob Kent. The Junior high staff includes Mary Moe, Linda Langman, Marlene Mueller, Mary Devine, Becky Schoby, Miriam Gisch, Gail Kirkland and Kathy Walker. Mrs. Henderson is in charge of the operation of the library, and with the assistance of Miss Sorensen, provided the librarians with slides of their trip to Europe. We understand there were scenes of a French Discotheque . . . taken from the inside ... included in the slides. - o Also last week (Monday and Tuesday to be exact) were played some interesting games in volleyball. The girls' intra- murals tournament was reduced to two teams which met Monday of this week to determine the top team. Team number 1 was favored in the championship with superstars like Ginny Deal, Linda Ross and Debbie Laws leading the squad. Mrs. Moxley supervises the activity. Annual sales for the' 67 Bulldog were begun last week. Thirty- oae girls are contributing their time to promoting the sale of what is promised to be a great boy. Seniors have the option of having their names imprinted on the cover for fifty cents extra. Many are taking advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. - o- In boys' intramnrals last Monday the Lakers upset the Warriors, the Raiders squeeked by the Pistons, and the Hawks trounced the Bullets. Each of the six teams plays its opponent twice during the season. - o- Representatives of the Armed Services were at the high school last Wednesday to aid any potential volunteers. - o - A. H. S. "adopted" three families this year and the junior high is helping out two families. Students bringing gifts are given free admission to the talent show, Dec. 21. - o - F.B.L.A. had another of its appetizing candy sales after the Friday afternoon pep meeting. Also, the next night a sock hop was sponsored by this active dob. Admission price was based on the color of socks worn by the students. What would they have done if a fellow didn't wear any socks ... let him in free? - o- Last week I mentioned the sock hop which was ended early. I have since learned that the univited guests were one of several factors, not the sole reason for the early closing. My apologies. - o - The Student Council has reserved a band for the Sno Ball to be held Dec. 17. The group was formerly "The Uniques" and has been reorganized into "The Good Things." - o - The high school choruses, under the direction of Steven George, are rehearsing for their Christmas concert to be given this Wednesday, Dec. 14. The two girls' choruses, modern choir, the Junior high chorus and the Symphonettes all have a part in the beautiful program. - o - The Debate team traveled to Emmetsburg Saturday for a battle of the wits with the Emmetsburg high school squad. - o - Funny Time: Professor: "Were you copying his answer 7" Student: "No sir, I was just checking to see that he got mine down right." For those of you wanting to lose a few pounds, a friend of ours has the surefire answer: Work out in the 99 degree heat of the Bryant School hot box. He did and has dropped down from 180 to 165 in practically no time at all.
