There were seventy-five guests present and light refreshments of brick ice cream and cake were served. A dispatch from Lebanon yesterday stated that A. J. Shelby of that city, a relative of Mrs. Sarah Ball of North Jackson street, had been seriously if not fatally hurt in an automobile accident.

The dispatch stated that his shoulder was dislocated, the ligaments tom loose and that he was internally injured. This morning Mrs. Ball received word from Lebanon to the effect that the extent of Mr. Shelby's injuries was a dislocated shoulder although he escaped possibly fatal hurts in a rather miraculous manner. In the letter to Mrs.

Ball he stated that the machine in which he was riding went into the ditch and turned turtle, but that he barely escaped being crushed by the heavy weight of the auto, when the bed caught 011 the fence. The machine was held there until he was able to slip out from under it. Mr. Shelby is well known here, having visited Mrs. Ball many times.

The Yaudet has for tonight a Thanhouser film, Girl It is the story of a woman reporter on a metropolitan paper, who gets the confession of a public official charge with accepting a bribe. A nice romance is woven in this story which adds to the color. A new illustrated song will be sung. The Star Grand will show a very comic picture film tonight entitled Simple The police often do make mistakes, and in this picture they certainly made a very funny mistake. And if you want to laugh heartily and hear the rest of the audience laugh, you certainly will have to go and see this film, for even a pessimist with a bad toothache will not be able to keep from laughing when he watches this picture on the screen.

Earl Robertson will sing the Ivy Climbs Over the The Palace has for tonight a Selig film, Her It is the story of old colonial times when people thought more of their country than their lives. A young girl gives up her life that George Washington might not lose his at tne hands of some conspirators. The girl's heroism is wonderfully displayed and the picture portrays the early life in our countv. A new song will be sung. LITHE DOING IN COUNT Judge Sparks Comes Here And Will be Very Busy.

Judge Sparks left 011 the 1:06 car Wednesday afternoon for his home in Rushville and there will be very little doing in court matters from now until after the election on next Tuesday, says the Shelbyville Republican. The judge will probably be here every morning to call the docket and attend to the little business that might come up in court matters. Sit now for your photo. This amendment is to be voted 011 at the general election November 8.

There has been agitation along this line for years and local members of the bar have always favored it, realizing that something more stringent should be provided in the way of qualification is to be kept as high as desired. The passage of the amendment being urged all over the State. It is a non-partisan movement and is being supported by all political parties. The object of the proposed amendment is to place the lawyers on the same basis as other professional men. such as physicians, veterinaiies and I pharmacists, and requiring that they pass examinations before being j1 granted license to practice law.
