Nearly 300 boys sign up for Little League Add 4th this year for third graders Nearly 300 boys from grades 3 to 9 will begin Little League play in four leagues Monday, June 14, it was announced this week by Miles Sloniker, recrea* tion commissioner. This year there will be a new PeeWee League with six teams composed entirely of third gra< ders. The other leagues will in' elude 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th, and 8th and 9th. There will be six teams in each of the three younger lea' gues and five in the Senior loop including a club from Whitte> more. Any boys whose names are not listed below on any team and who would like to play in the summer program are asked to call Mr. Sloniker, 295-3814. THE PEEWEE league will play all its games at Maple Park, the National at Bertha Godfrey (Southeast field), American 'League, Lucia "Wallace; and Senior League, Bertha Godfrey (Northeast field). • There will be a week in mid- season, as before, for make-up games, vacations, etc. That week will be July 4-10. "We desperately need managers, coaches and umpire's," said Sloniker this week. "Any person who would like to help out is urged to call Art Olson, program director, as soon as possible. His number is 295-3113. . Playing gear, as furnished by the Recreation Commission, will be issued as soon as coaches and managers are signed up for the teams. PEEWEE LEAGUE 2nd and 3rd ;./;. Mr.. Sheehy had become separated from his mother and aunt during the German occupation of Poland.
