Billy Jack Fans Know, the Lines By DAVE PRITCHARD Freeman Staff Many of the persons watching at the Pix Theatre Thursday knew the film so well they recited the lines along with the actors. A free school for all types of kids is on reservation, but the rednecks in the local town too fond of it. Among the students at the school, you see, are blacks, Indians, chicanos and tals. Billy Jack becomes the protector. At the end of the movie Billy Jack is holed up in the church with a small arsenal of guns and ammunition. Outside is an army of police waiting to blow his brains out.

not afraid to he tells the pacifist directoress of the school when she comes to try to get him to surrender. She makes him realize, however, that the fight for survival in a lawless society is more than just individual survival. If Billy Jack refused to surrender, the school will be closed. The lawmen give Billy time to decide whether to fight or surrender. He makes a deal with the police and the representative who is present, not to save himself, but to save the school.

He allows himself to be handcuffed and led away by police as the students stand in silent tribute with clenched fists upraised.
