(tews) ADVANCE THURSDAY, MAY $0, IMS Mrs, AH Olssn was of Emmons, Minn., to be with her parents during the latter sickness of her father Elmer Christian who had been in poor health for a few months. Mr. Christian. 66. died Monday and funeral services were not completed at this writing. Services will be held in the Silver Lake Lutheran church at Northwootl. Surviving are his wife, daughters. Mrs. Olson, Mrs. Robert Singlcst, of Mankato and a brother. Mr. and Mrs. Webster Orton spent Sunday at DCS Molncs with the latter's brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bentele. Mrs. Camilla Metzger has gone to Belleville, 111., for a visit of a week with her brother Robert. Mrs. C. N. Robinson and Mildred have been visited by the former's grandson Lt. and Mrs. Marvin Miller and little daughter Margo. of Plattsberg, N. Y. air base. They have also been at Spring Valley, Minn., with the parents Mr .and Mrs; Earl Miller. They will visit the Hal Sny- dcrs at La Habra, Calif., and on June 3 will leave from San Francisco for two years of serv ice at Wakkanoi air base, Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Vernoh Jensen went to Swea City Saturday for visit with Mrs. Jensen's mother Mrs. Mamie Dourtc. Mr. «tid Mrs. Hugo Johnson and son Karl, their daughter and family. Mrs. Richard Duddine. of Bancroft, went to Marshalltown Sunday for dinner with another daughter Mrs. Wally Adams and family. They were joined by another son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. S. 0. Ka<os and Connie, of Des Moincs. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Knecht were accompanied by the lat r's mother Mrs. Bertha Vcn- Leicher, of Buffalo Center, to Fairmont. Minn. Sunday where they were guest-; of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schobrlchs. Mr. and Mr*. Earl Bowman had "as dinner guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. lx;o Lallior of Ventura and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bowman .Tr. of Dodge Center. Minn., and the respective families, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bennett and children visited I^ec Worley, Mrs. Bennett's father, Saturday at the Veterans hospital, in Des Moines. Mr, Worley is recovering plowly from a recent heart attack. Frandle and brothers Lloyd and Hubert Tut- tie and families. Mrs. Clifford Haase has been ftt Des Moincs visiting with her daughter Karen, R. N M at the Methodist hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rochlean have received announcement of the birth of twins May 4 at Corona, Calif., to their son- in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs, Don Martinez. They have been named .Taun Ricardo and Tena Lee. They boy weighed 6 Ib. 4 oz., and the girl 5 Ib. 15 oz. The mother is the former Janice Rochlcau. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rutledge, aunt and uncle of the infants who live at Escan- dido, were present at the christening. There are four other children in the family. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Frideres and their son Kenneth and wife riave recently been in Chicago, 111., to visit the senior Frideres son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. David McLiesch to whom a daughter had been born. The infant has been named Deborah Lee. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Irelan were in Fort Dodge Monday where the former transacted business. Mr. and Mrs V. L. Gunder took a weekend trip to McGregor, Eldora and Stone City. Stone City is of particular interest historically. Mrs. Wilma Kuhlmann and Diane attended the baccalaureate Cervices Sundfiy evening at Cylinder. Merrill Grisham, nephew ">( Mrs. Kuhlmann, is in the graduating class. In the afternoon they had as callers Jan Esberg, nf Bode, friend of Diane, and Mr .and Mrs. Louis Pergande of Stanhope. Paul Schneider went to Iowa City for an eye check-up at the university hospital recently. Mrs. Andrew Hansen has received a letter, from her sister Drtisilla. Mrs. Don Mertz, Grand Island, Neb., that the house on their farm was twisted on the foundation, fences leveled and silos destroyed during the recent tornado. The farm is occupied by tenants who were uninjured. Mr. and Mrs/Don Ferris, Brian and Mark attended Veishea at Ames a week ago Saturday and visited with the daughter Charlene LaBarre. Minn. Mrs. Kathryn Me honey was brought home Sunday from Minneapolis by her son James Mahonev and son-in-law Lawrence Weir her visit there having been since Saturday, May 7. A Mother's day dinner was given for her at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Don Ludwig at which others present were Mr .and 'Mrs. Lawrence Weir, Mr. and Mrs. James Mahoney, Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Prestegard and the respective families. Mrs. Mahoney,'was taken for a drive to see the devastation wrought by the recent tornado. A highlight of her visit was a musicale at which 100 jboys sang, and musical numbers were given on various instruments, -j; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Mr. Bowman is Extension Director of Wright county. , Mrs. Alwin Huenhold is in Chicago visiting with her daughter Joyce, an R. N., at the Presbyterian-St. Luke hospital.
