SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2003 LIFESTYLES LEE PUBLICATIONS, INC. WEDDINGS Tammy DeLong, Brian James marry CHARLESTON Baskets and vases of pink roses adorned the sanctuary of the Friendship Baptist Church for the Aug. 9, 2003, wedding of Tammy June DeLong of Mattoon and Brian Matthew. James of Greenup. Their parents are Willard and Donna DeLong of Mattoon and Lloyd and Janice James of Greenup.

Pastor Tom Skinner, assisted by Pastor Tom Pullen, officiated the 2 p.m. double-ring wedding vows. Candelabra intertwined with ivy and pink roses, while white bows and ivy and pink roses adorned the pews. Dave Sauerwein of Charleston recited a reading, "Love." Pianist Jessica Butler of Mattoon accompanied Mike and Karen South of Charleston, aunt and uncle the groom, who sang "Endless Love" and "I Will Be Here." The pianist also played "Tammy," "Amazed" and "Everything I Do." Recorded music included "I Could Love You Like That" and "Keeper of the Stars." The bride, escorted by her father, chose a white satin gown styled with pearls and sequins. The waist at the back of the gown featured a bow of rosettes, and lace and pearls edged the hem.

The skirt flowed into a cathedrallength train and she wore a white headpiece of pearls and rosettes to secure her veil. She carried a bouquet of pink Mr. and Mrs. Brian James and white roses, with her great-great-grandmother's handkerchief tucked into the arrangement. Connie Kline of Mattoon, of sister of the bride, was the matron of honor.

Yolanda Witt and Crystal Sanders, both of Mattoon, were bridesmaids. The attendants wore two piece gowns of crepe satin in mauve or moss green and carried smaller versions of the bride's bouquet. Their gowns were made by Karen Tolen of Trilla. Jeremy James of Greenup, served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Troy South of Mattoon, cousin of the groom; and Steve Kline of Mattoon, brother- of the bride.

Guests were seated by Dave Sauerwein of Charleston and Doug James Katie Schultz, Kevin McGuirt exchange wedding vows LITTLE ROCK, Katie Elizabeth Schultz of Austin, became the bride of Kevin Lee McGuirt of Fairfield Bay, on Oct. 11, 2003, at First Lutheran Church in Little Rock. The Rev. Steven Teske performed the ceremony. Parents of the bride are Tim and Peggy Schultz of Austin.

Grandmothers of the bride are June Schultz of Snohomish, and Kathryn Price of Mattoon. Parents of the groom are Milton and Tracy McGuirt of Fairfield McGuirt of Fairfield Bay. Grandparents of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin McGuirt the groom are Milton and Dorsey McGuirt of Warm Springs, Yvonne Nourse of Ravendon Springs, and Laverne Nourse of Ravenna, Ohio.

The bride wore a strapless, ivory satin, A-line gown with an asymmetrical drape skirt over two-toned beaded Schiffli lace. Her cathedral-length veil was secured by a headpiece of freshwater pearls. She carried a bouquet of calla and stargazer lilies. The maid of honor was Jessica Lee Jones of Cabot, Ark. The best man was Benny Carlton of Shirley, Ark.

Ushers were Joe Berry of Austin, and Ben Bray of Harrison, Ark. A dinner reception at the Little Rock Club followed the ceremony. The groom is employed by Norman Implement Company in Damascus, Ark. The bride attends Arkansas State University, Beebe. The couple is at home in Greenbrier, Ark.

ANNIVERSARY Clark 40th OLNEY Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clark of Olney, formerly of Mattoon, will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday. Clark and his wife, Marcella, were married Nov. 2, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Mattoon by the Rev.

Ronnie Williams. Their attendants were Sharon Monroe and Rodney Clark. They are the parents of David L. of Amelia, Ohio; and Shawn E. of Olney.

The couple have two grandchildren. Clark is retired from AmerenCIPS. Mrs. Clark is a homemaker. Cards may be sent to them Mr.

This year, Maxi Fitzjarrold and Mary Williams will demonstrate napkin-folding techniques. Lunch will be served during the program and there will be time for hands-on experience. The Lunch and Learn will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Tuesday in the Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Parking is located on the north side of the health center. Deidre MacKenzie becomes the bride of Scott Carpenter 'of Mattoon, cousin of the groom. Mary Magnotta of Mattoon attended the guest book. Bubbles were handed out by Sarah Drummond and Cassandra Jones, both of Gays. Katie and Bill Arndt, children of Jim and Kim Arndt of Mattoon, were the flower girl and ring bearer. Flowers and decorations were by Lisa Butler of Mattoon.

Donna Roach of Charleston was the photographer. A cake and punch reception was held in the basement of the church. Rob Cutler of Findlay and Rob Howard of Mattoon received the gifts while Karen Moore of Neoga, Lisa Warner of Gays and Rhonda Mulvaney of Humboldt, attended the gift table. Servers were Connie Heaton of Charleston, Sharon Millage of Charleston and Cindy Janssen of Trilla. Lois Swinford of Mattoon made the cake and mints.

Thom Skinner of Mount Vernon was in charge of audio and Judy Leidner of St. Louis handled the video. The bride is a 1994 graduate of Bethel Christian School and is employed at Wal-Mart SuperCenter, Mattoon. Her husband is a 1993 graduate of Cumberland High School and is employed at Evapco in Greenup. They took a honeymoon trip to St.

Louis and the Branson area before making their home in Greenup. WAY BACK WHEN CHAMPAIGN Deidre Lynn MacKenzie and Scott William Carpenter said "I do" in an Oct. 17, 2003, garden wedding at The Vineyard in Champaign. Their parents are Levi and Gina Miller of Arthur and Mary Kay Carpenter of Mattoon. The Rev.

Dave Neukomm officiated the 7 p.m. single-ring ceremony. The soundtrack from "Braveheart" provided music for the wedding. The garden was decorated with an arch covered with white tulle and greenery. Tiki Mr.

and torches, tea light candles and small white twinkle lights were randomly placed in the garden. The bride, escorted by her father, chose a white, strapless, floor-length gown and carried a cascade of red roses with a waterfall effect. Brittany Ann Downs of Neoga was the maid of honor. Emily Miller and Alicia Scozzerella of Arthur, cousins of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore red and platinum gowns with a Scottish plaid top.

Adam Lee Brazzell of Charleston served as the best man. Groomsmen were Jake Brooks of Charleston and Jeremy Collins of Mattoon. Guests were seated by L.J. Miller of Arthur, brother of the bride; Mike Dillon of Mr. and Mrs.

Scott Carpenter Arthur; and Jason Johnson of Charleston. D.J. Ingram, sister of the groom, registered the guests. Janae Hopper, daughter of Dave and Christy Hopper, and Miranda McKerrow, cousin of the bride and daughter of Sandy Bush and Mike McKerrow, were the flower girls. Christian Hopper, son of Dave and Christy Hopper, was the ring bearer.

A reception was held at the Lincoln Historical Lodge in Champaign. The bride is a 2003 homeschool graduate and is now a college student. Her husband is a 1999 graduate of CHS and is now serving with the U.S. Army. They plan to take a honeymoon at a later date.

Herron to mark Herron 90th birthday MORTON A card. shower and family celebration are planned for the 90th birthday of Homer D. Herron of Morton, formerly of Creve Coeur, on Thursday. Born to Ed and Maude Edwards Herron on Nov. 6, 1913, he married Dorothy Wood in Shelby County in 1934.

Their children are Barbara Dollar of Farmington; Carol (Norvil) Herrin of Chillicothe; and Helen Bradford and Nancy Mattson, who are both deceased. The couple have 10 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. Herron retired from Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria after 30 years of service. He has been a dedicated bowler and active in the UAW Retiree Club and Caterpillar Retiree Club.

Assisting were program committee members June Krutza and Joyce Chase. The hostess read an article written by Stanley Stites, reminiscing after a reunion of his high school graduation class. Due to the absence of the president, vice president Dorothy Monts presided at the business meeting.

During the business session, members unanimously agreed to present the club's entire treasury to the Charleston Library building fund. Alpha Rho to meet Alpha Rho will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Renee Williams' home, 20 Windermere. Bring four food items for the Thanksgiving food basket. Hostesses will be Williams and Julie Taylor.

'Do own child support' program offered Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation Inc. will offer a free "do your own child support enforcement and child support modification" clinic on Tuesday.

The clinic will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the office of United Way, 1108 S. Willow, Effingham. At the clinic, participants port order or to enforce an existing child support order. Participants will be assisted in filling out all of the necessary forms to file their own child support enforcement and modification cases.
