AROUND ALGONA MR. AND MRS. Jim Kolp spent last weekend In West Liberty where they visited college friends. MR. AND MRS. Robert Bomgaars and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Boftigaars will spend Thanksgiving Day in Clear Lake with Mrs. Robert Bomgaar's mother, Mrs. Ed Leaning. MR. AND MRS. Jim Kolp will spend the Thanksgiving holiday with Mr. Kelp's parents, Mr^and iiiiniinniiiflnnroiiiiiiniiniiiiiiiipnmininniwmniiniiifflimnn Mrs. J. R. Kolp. MR. AND MRS. Phi] Ballard had as weekend guests Mrs. Ballard's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lawler. The Lawlers are moving from Minneapolis to Huntington Park, Calif. MARY JEAN HOOD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hood, will arrive today from Bloomington, Minn., and will spend the Thanksgiving holiday with her parents. MR. AND MRS. Ray Poeppe were visited last week by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Poeppe. MRS. WALTER BRADLEY entertained her bridge club Wednesday evening. Winning scores were held by Mrs. Joel Herbst and Mrs. John Dreesman. Mrs. Herbst and Mrs. Gene Hood were guests. MR. AND MRS. Bud Robinson will spend the Thanksgiving weekend In Wilmar, M.'.nn. with Mrs. Robinson's sister and family. MR. AND MRS. Gene Hood were visited last week by Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Eischeid of Ft. Dodge. Mrs. Eischeid is Mrs. Hood's sister. 3 Algerians Are I.S.U. Graduates AMES, IOWA- About 440 students received degrees Saturday, Nov. 19, at Iowa State University in commencement exercises marking the end of the fall quarter. President W. Robert Parks will award the degrees in ceremonies beginning at 9:30 a. m. in the Armory. Bachelor of science degrees will be presented to 270 students. Advanced degrees will include 97 master's and 73 doctors of philosophy degrees. Kossuth county graduates were Virgean R. Bierstedt, daughter of Mrs. Lucinda Bierstedt, Algona, Child Development - Elementary Education; Philip D. Egel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest D. Egel, Algona, Engineering Operation. 3 Couples Wed Three wedding licenses were issued this week at the office of County Clerk Alma Pearson. They went to Dean Wlllrett and Karen Alt, Nov. 17; and Edward Flynn and Jennie Honken; and Anthony Tremmel and Mary Jo Haag, Nov. 21.
