THE .OOtmaB. ALGOfTA, IO WA. FBIDAt NOVEMBER 23, 1894. The Vote of November fill Canvassed and Results Declared- Taxes on Cycloned Farms Ahted-Clainis Paid, ALGOKA. Iowa, Nov. 12, 1894.—The) Board of Supervisors met in regular session with following members present: Chubb, Rawson, Smith, Burton and Hollenbeck. The minutes of last meeting read and approved. Moved and seconded that we adjourn till 1 o'clock. Carried. Auditor's office,! o'clock p. in.—Board met with'all members present. The board proceeded to canvass the vote cast at the last election with the following rcault as to county officers: For the office of county auditor there were 3109 votes cast, of which Fred D. Calkins received 1792 votes and J. B. •Hofius received 1317 votes. F. Di Calkins having received a majority of all the votes cast was declared elected auditor. Randall received 2095 votes and P. E. Johnston received 1028 votes. M. F. Randall having received a majority of all votes cast, was declared elected recorder. For the office of county clerk there were cast 3124 votes, of "which B. F. Crcse received 2094 votes and Guy Butts received 1030 votes. B. F. Crose having received a majority of all the votes cast was declared elected clerk. For the office of county attorney there were cast 3123 votes, of which J. C. Raymond received 1846 ?otes and C. C. Thompson received 1277 votes. J. C. Raymond having received a majority of all votes cast was declared elected county attorney. For the office of supervisors there were cast 6199 votes, of which H. C. Hollenbeck received 1879 votes, Silas Roupe received 1074 votes, Leander Barton received 2038 votes, and Albert Jacobson received 1208. H. C. Hollenbeck and Leander Barton having received the highest number of votes cast were declared elected supervisors. For the proposition of jail tax there 6-96-27 and personal. Abate tax on ne 9-98-27, amounting to $13.15 for 1893, the same being college and not taxable, Adopted. Resolved, That the road tax of$ 2.86 be refunded on personal property of J. M. 'For "A- were cast 1795 votes, of which ' jail tax" received 422 votes and gainst jail tax" 1373. "For the proposition of dividing the county into supervisor districts there were cast: 1720 votes, of which "Por districts" received 977 votes and "Against districts" received.750 votes. On the proposition of increasing the number of supervisors there were cast 1630 votes, of which 'Tor increase" received 695 votes and "Against increase" 935 votes. Cutter to settle his claim against Kossuth county for $75. Qamed. Auditor's office, Nov. 14, 1864, 9 a. m.—Board met with all members present. The Board continued the auditing of bills. Moved and seconded that we ad journ till 1 o'clock p. m. Auditor's office, Nov. 14,1894,1 p. m.—Board met with all members pres- thorized to redeem all tax sales on the si nwi 24-97-29, the same being a homestead and not taxable. Adopted. Resolved, That the tax on the property of Lars Anderson, lot 5 blk 52, Algona, be abated for 1893. Adopted. Resolved, That the tax on the property of Mrs. Clement, the w| nw 8-9827, be abated foi 1893 and personal tax. Adopted. Resolved, That the tax for 1893 be abated on si nwi 24-97-27. Adopted. Resolved, That tax of 1893 on lot 2, section 2, 94-29, be refunded on account; of erroneous assessment. Adopted. Resolved, That the dog tax of $1 be refunded to W. L. Morris m Lotts Creek township, the same being an erroneous assessment. Adopted. Resolved, That all taxes on nw ne 897-29 be abated, the same being a tree claim and not taxable. Adopted.
