Adult-evening classes Began on Monday MAYNARD — A^ult evening classes in the West Central school district began on Monday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. and continue each Monday evening for the following nine weeks. The women's classes will be held in the home economics room of the Maynard school and the men's in the assembly room unless otherwise stated. The theme for the women's lesson series is "Your Family and Your Home". Mrs. Janet Prochaska, physical education instructor at West Centra] will give instruction in the first three lessons. The dates are: Oct. 2 — Treatment of Wounds and Shock. Oct. 9 — How to Treat Common Home Emergencies. Oct. 16 — Artificial Respiration and Bandages. Oct. 23 — Planning Work and Storage Centers. Oct. 30 — Window Treatments that Satisfy. Nov. 6 —• Lighting in the Home by Harold Christofferson, Postville KEA. Nov. 13 — Credit — Its Use and Abuse. Nov. 20 — Christmas in the Home. Nov. 27 — Wilts and Blights of Farm and Garden Crops. Dec. 4 — Party Night. The council members who have helped to plan and make arrangements for this year's series of lessons are^rs. Loraine Albrecht, chairman; Mrs. Benton Harrison, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Jack Thomas, publicity; Norma Klammer, Mrs. Frank Thyer and Mrs. John McKoon. The schedule for the men's classes is as follows: Oct. 2 — Livestock Handling and Marketing with Bernard Ebbing, Rath, Waterloo. Oct. 9 — Outlook meeting at Community hall. Oct. 16 — Corn Picker Adjustment. Oct. 23 — Our FFA program — FFA boys, Jim Harrison, president. Oct. 30 — Animal Diseases, local veterinarian. Nov. 6 — Dairy Nutrition. Nov. 13 — Soil Bank — Gov- qrnment program for 1962. Nov. 20 — Collective Bargaining through the National Farmer Organization. The programs for Nov. 27 and Dec. 4 will toe held jointly with the women's group.
