But special attention is given to those who are preparing for an active business career as well as those interested in tepchipg and in advanced work in graduate study. The names of a few of the courses will indicate the broad scope of the work of this department: "Principles of Accounting", "Personnel Administration", "Business Teaching Methods", "Public Finance", "Salesmanship", and "Labor Economics." Division IH, then, is primarily devoted to a study of man's relationship, past and present, to man. In this day of tensions such a study is believed to be of paramount importance if man and his civilization «re to survive. Churches in area Invite students To share services At one tune Upper Iowa was affiliated with the Methodist church, and was supported by the Methodist church organization. This relationship was dissolved a number of Tears ago, however, and toe college is now interdenominational. Dr. Garbee and the faculty members encourage all students fo attend the church of their choice in Fayette or the surrounding oammunity, and the churches invite all churches to take part in, their activities. In FXpette, students will find five churches to choose from — First Methodist, Wesleyan Methodist, Grace Lutheran, St. Francis Catholic and the Church of the Latter Day Saints. The Rev. Jerry Wolcott is pastor of the Fust Methodist church, located across the street north of Colgrove-Walker building. The Rev. Richard Jamieson is the pastor of the "Wesleyan Methodist church, located two blocks west of the bank corner, and the Rev. Norman Betke is pastor of the Grace Lutheran church one block west of the bank corner. The St. Francis Catholic church is located one block east of the University Cleaners, and the rectory is located about two blocks west of the Cleaners. The Rev. Lowell Shekleton is pastor of the church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at present are holding their- worship services in the Upper Iowa music halL They recently purchased a tract of land in northwest Fayette, and are planning to erect a church building in the near future. Vearl G. McBride is president of the Morman group. The United Presbyterian church will be found in Maynard, and the Rev. C. R. Carlson is serving as pastor. Churches of other denominations may be found in West Union, Strainer and Oelwein, all within easy driving distance an Sunday morning. Marine captain to Visit U.I.U. campus Capt. Darrell U. Davidson, Marine Corps officer, will visit the Upper Iowa University campus on September 20, for the purpose of interviewing students who are interested in obtaining a commission in the Marine Corps upon graduation. The Marine Corps offers the Platoon Leaders Class for college under graduates and the Officer Candidate course for seniors and graduates. Following successful completion of their training, candidates are commissioned as second lieutenants. College women in their Junior and senior years are eligible for similar training leading to a commission in the Women Marines. Persons interested in discussing the training programs are invited to contact Capt. Davidson during his visit. He will be located in the -Colgiwve-Walker lounge.
