6,572 Disabled Persons Find Work in Illinois Springfield, July 17 (AP) The state vocational rehabilitation division said today that 6.572 physically and mentally disabled Illinoisans had found paying jobs in the past four years through its services. Frank G. Thompson, vocational education chairman, said the division found that "more than half of the rehabilitated men and women were between 15 and 30 years of age when they requested services." Thompson estimated at least 000 state residents had physical or mental disabilities serious enough to be considered job handicaps. The rehabilitation program is a joint federal-state project. Instituted to aid handicapped civilians.
