She had been in fall In)? health since April and entered the hospital three week? Ago. For many years before moving to Durham in 1961 Mrs. Ashlook had lived on Danforth Street. She had been active in church and club work in Alton and after moving to Durham had been active in Red Cross work at Veterans Hospital and in the Durham Golden Age Society. Her husband, the late Claude Ashlock, was in business in Alton for many years previous to his death in 1937. He had operated the old Miller Buggy Co., on Belle St. The former Florence Lawliss Mrs. Ashlock was a daughter ol the late Mr. and Mrs. William Lawliss. She was born Feb. 18, 1886, in Alton. Mr. and Mrs. Ashlock were parents of three sons, Ray A, Ashlock, who is plant manager oi mold manufacturing at the Durham plant of Owens-Illinois; Willian L., of Birmingham, Mich., where he holds an executive posi tion with Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp., and the late Jacque Ashlock. She also leaves five grandchildren. The body will be brought to Al ton for funeral services Monday at 10 a.m. in Gent Chapel to be conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Kemper, pastor of Church of the Redeemer, Congregational. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park. Visitation hours at the chapel will be after 2 p.m. Sunday. Glassmeyer Funeral rites for Gerald (Jerry) Glassmeyer of Rte. 1, Alton, who died Thursday at 10:05 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Grafton, will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Staten Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Visitation hours at the chapel will be after 7 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Glassmeyer, an employe of the Alton Evening Telegraph, was born at Worden, Oct. 24, 1934. He attended the Bethalto Schools and was in military service from 1958 until 1960. Twenty-two of the 24 months in military duty were, spent in Germany. Before entering military service Mr. Glassmeyer had worked at Wells Tire Co., for some 10 years and had been at the Telegraph for 18 months. He was married June 24, 1961 in St. Matthew's Church to the former Rosemary Partridge. • Survivors in addition to his widow are his father, George Glassmeyer Sr., Wood River; his mother, Mrs. Velma Schultz Chicago; four brothers, Leo Jr. Rosewood Heights; Glen Ray Alton; Larry Clinton and Robert Keith, Wood River; two step-brothers, Larry Ray Smith, Limestone, Me., and Gary Bridges, Wood River; four sisters, Mrs. Bernice Mouser, East Alton; Mrs. Mary Lou Perkinson, and Mrs. Betty Edelen, Alton, and Miss Michell Glassmeyer, Wood River. nn automobile accident near Grafton, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Hanke. who lived nrar Brighton, was a switchman for New York Central Railroad, and also was employed by Piasa Motor Fuel Co., as a truck driver. He was 35. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Hanke of West Alton, Mo., he was born in Alton, Nov. 7, 1927, and had lived here un- il moving recently to the Brighton area home. He attended the Alton schools and was in military service dur- ng World War II. He had served vith the Merchant Marine and as a paratrooper. He was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church; belonged to Teamsters & Chauffeurs Local 525; the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and tlte Moose lodge at Wood River. Survivors are his wife, the former Alice Bohn, to whom he was married in April of 1956; two daughters, Janet and Sherry, and three sons, Brian, Keith and Arthur Edwwin, the latter son a child of a previous marriage. He also leaves his parents; a brother, Larry, West Alton, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Robert W. Schrimpf, Alton. Neunaber Hanke Funeral services for Arthur Edwin Hanke, who was fatally injured Thursday at 7:20 p.m. in DEDICATED TO PLEASE. MODERATE CHARGES Dial 462-9296 Mrs. Olinda Weseman Neunaber of 310 Sherman St., Bethalto, widow of William Neunaber, died at 6:25 a.m. today in Alton Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Aug. 26. A resident nearly all of her life in Bethalto, Mrs. Neunaber • was born at Edwardsville, Feb. 29, 1896, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weseman. Her husband, who died April 21, 1962, had been active in civic projects of Bethalto area for many years and was a past president of Bethalto Rotary Club. Mrs. Neunaber belonged to Zion Lutheran Church, Bethalto, and to the Bethalto Rotary Anns. Her marriage to Mr. Neunaber took place Sept. 14, 1920, in St. Louis. They were parents of a son, Walter, who died in 1930. Two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Neunaber and Miss Lydia Weseman, also died previously. Funeral services will be conducted in Zion Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Duane Brunette, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The body is at Smith Funeral Home, Bethalto, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday and until noon Sunday when the body will be taken to the church. Funeral rites will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Gent Chape by the Rev. Charles Collisson pastor of Elm Street Presbyteriat Church. Burial will be in Uppet Alton Cemetery. Visiting hours at the chape will be after 7:30 p.m. Saturday Bockstruck Private funeral rites for Stanley Leroy Bockstruck,. infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bock struck of Rte. 1, Alton, will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in Upper Alton Cemetery. Pending time of the burial the body will be at Smith Funera Home. The baby was born Tuesday < Alton Memorial Hospital and died at 6 a.m. today. Surviving beside his parents are a brother, Steven; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bockstruck and the materna grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Godfrey. Long JERSEYVILLE — Mrs. Mabel VI. Long, widow of Oscar Long, died at 3:50 this morning in Water's Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 13, 1892 the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Davis. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Alan Parsell; a brother, Henry Davis, both of Jerseyville; and a sister Mrs. Amy McAvoy, Jacksonville. There is one grandchild. Funeral services will be Sunday in Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Mode Powell officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Benson McCee Frank E. McGee of 1105 Logan St., a retired Shell Oil Co., em- ploye, died at 5:10 a.m. today in St. Anthony's Hospital where he had been a patient since Tuesday. Mr. McGee, who was 77, had been ill of a respiratory ailment for a few days before entering the hospital, and later complications developed. He retired from Shell Oil Co., in 1947 because of a cardiac condition, but had remained fairly active. He had been employed in :he car repair department of the oil refinery from January of 1923 until May of 1947. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick McGee, he was born Jan. 6, 1886. in St. Louis.- He was married to Louise Todd on June 9, 1906, in Alton. His wife died in November of 1961. Since the death of his wife, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Portia Wells, lad kept house for him. Other survivors are three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Louise Todd, St. Louis, and Mrs. Leona Tood, Wood River, STREEPER FUNERAL HOME C. TRAVIS STREEPER, Owner) 1620 WASHINGTON FLORENCE ASHLOCK Mrs. Rose Ann Henson, wife of Sam Henson of 3508 • Biscayne Blvd., died unexpectedly Thursday at 11:28 p.m. in Wood River Township Hospital where she had been a patient for less than 24 hours. Mrs. Henson had been in apparent good health until Thursday morning. She had recovered from an operation in December of last year and her death was unexpected to members of h e r family. A former resident of Wood River, Mrs. Henson was a long time member of First Baptist Church there, and belonged to the Philathea Class of the Sunday School. She also was a more than 50 - year member of Sara Camp, Royal Neighbors Lodge, and belonged to the Rebekah Lodge. She lived in Wood River for 22 years before moving to Alton in 1945. She was born at Bethalto, June 6, 1886, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hefner. She was married to Sam Henson, Oct. 6, 1904, in Jersey County. They observed the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage with open house in First Baptist Church, Wood River, in October of 1954. Survivors beside her husbani a retired Shell Oil Co., employi are two daughters, Mrs. Elto Burke, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mr Melba Crosnoe, R o s e w o o Heights; a son, Russell, Portagi Wis., three brothers, Sherma Hefner, Jerseyville; John (Doc Cyprus, and Riley, Cottage Hills three sisters, Mrs. Delia Gibso and Mrs. Bessie Borman, Wooc River, and Mrs. Essie Heider scheid, Jerseyville; five granc children, and two great-granc children. Funeral rites will be conducte Monday at 1:30 p.m. in First Bap tist Church, Wood River. Buria will be in Valhalla Memoria Park. Visiting hours at Marks Mor tuary, Wood River, will be from 7 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m Monday when the body will b taken to the church.
