DECATUR SUNDAY HERALD AND REVIEW PAGE SEVENTEEN Miss Ziegler Marries Friday Daughter of Prominent Farmer City Doctor Is Bride of Chicagoan The home of Dr. and Mrs. John Hartman Ziegler in Farmer City was 1 the scene of an afternoon wedding at their" m. on New Year's day when daughter, Margaret Squire Ziegler became the bride of Hugh Light Ray, Chicago.

Chief Justice Lott R. Herrick of Farmer City performed the single ring ceremony in the presence of the two families. The fireplace was decorated with poinsettias and candelabra and a decorated spruce Christmas tree was also used. The ceremony was read by candlelight. The bride wore her mother's wedding dress which has previously been worn by her two sisters, Mrs.

L. T. Fruin and Mrs. William A. Amsler.

The gown is ivory lace over ivory taffeta with a high lace collar, full short sleeves, high waistline and a full skirt falling into a short train. Her veil was ivory lace and her flowers yellow roses. Her sister, Miss Anna Mae Ziegler was maid of honor and wore royal blue velvet and carried pink roses and baby breath. Mrs. Ziegler, the bride's mother wore a black and white suit with a corsage of gardenias.

Mr. Ray had as his best man John David Ziegler, brother of the bride. David T. Curtis, cousin of the bride, sang "At Dawning" accompanied by Mrs. L.

A. Thomassen. Later Mrs. Thomassen played "I Love You Truly" and "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life." During the ceremony Mr. Curtis sang "Because." The bridal chorus from Lohengrin and the Mendelssohn wedding march were played for the processional and recessional.

Following the ceremony the guests were entertained at a wedding dinner in the Illinois hotel in Bloomington. After the dinner the couple left immediately for a wedding trip, their destination unannounced. After, Feb. 1 they will be at home Fulton avenue Chicago. "The bride attended the University of Illinois and was a Kappa Kappa Gamma pledge and the bridegroom was graduated from Illinois in 1935.

He is a member cf Delta Upsilon. For sometime he has been employed with Sears and Roebuck company in Chicago. Out of town were Mr. and Mrs. N.

Fruin, Bloomington. Mt. Pulaski Couple Celebrate Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Robert N.

Jones observed their golden wedquietly ding anniversary and also Mrs. Jones' 73d birthday anniversary in their home in Mt. Pulaski on Dec. 28. Mr.

Jones observed his 74th birthday anniversary on Dec. 21. A decorated wedding cake adorned the center of the table from which was served a turkey dinner at noon to the following near relatives. Mr. and Mrs.

F. Dillsaver and son John, Charles Herring and daughter Miss Mr. was born a Maudies south Mt. Pulaski and Mrs. Jones, Jones was born near Buffalo, a daughter of the late Squire James and Mary Muldoon.

They were married in Springfield Dec. 28. 1886 8 and started housekeeping in Douglas county where they lived but a short time. They moved to the Muldoon farm south of this city later moving to their own farm in the Copeland district of this township. About 30 years ago they moved to Mt.

Pulaski. They are the parents of one daughter. Zelma, wife of F. E. Turley.

Miss Lois Gehlbach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gehlbach of near Beason, was married to Donald Wright, of near Elkhart, in Bloomington with Rev. L. H.

Hooe, former Lincoln resident, officiating. The bride's father and her sister, Mrs. Paul Parks, accompanied the couple. Mr. Wright is the son Mr.

and Mrs. C. E. Wright, of near Elkhart. The couple will live on a farm near Beason.

Vandalia Penal Farm Superintendent Marries Dec. 27 George E. Ray, superintendent of the state penal farm in Vandalia, and Miss Doris Smith of Chadron, were married Sunday, Dec. 27, according to announcements received here this week. The couple came to St.

Louis Tuesday and communicated with Vandalia friends by telephone and announced they were en route to Hot Springs, to spend their honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ray will return here about Jan. 9 and will take up their residence at the superintendent's home at the state farm.

Mr. Ray came here from Centralia in January 1933 when He received his appointment as superintendent of the state farm by Governor Horner. He is chairman of the Democratic central committee of Marion county. Logan County Mr. and Mrs.

M. Y. Daniels, of Lincoln celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in their home Dec. 30, when friends called from 7 to 9 p. m.

They were married near Havana and lived on a farm near Lawndale for many years, moving to Lincoln in 1920. Mr. Daniels is 72 years old and his wife is 71. They have a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Best.
