I Wabash highballs through Deca-i tur yards ovsr the weekend han Wabash Work Shows Steady Upward Surge Not with any flourish or suddenness but with just a steady upward surge, the Wabash traffic con tinues its gains and adds more crews.

One 'more through freight train crew has been added to the south pool to make 15 turns, while one more has been added to the west end pool to make 13. Both are bulletined for bids from conductors and brakemen to Sunday. Furloughed Brakemen McDaniel. Purdy and Collier have been recalled to the west end extra board. Others were recalled to other extra boards last week.

And that has been the story for some weeks now with nearly all furloughed men "back at work or due to be back soon. At the end of the third week in June the Decatur division had handled 1.441 trains. 68.095 loads and 35.926 empties in the three weeks. Compared to the like period of 1940, this is a gain of 13.640 loads, or a little more than 25 per cent, and a gain of a little more than 15 per cent in trains operated. The loads handled wre the highest for any like period in more than a year except for last March.

Carmen Firnic Members of the Wabash local No. 277.
