Third St.—Downtown Alton Policy Meetings Scheduled for Greene Farmers CRROLLTON — The Greene County Farm Bureau has scheduled six area policy development meetings to be held within the next two weeks at various .places n the county, with each meeting :o open at 8 p.m. Farmers will meet in Informal discussions to decide what should be the policy tor the coming year. The six meetings are as foliows: Sept. 25, Legion hall in Eldred; Sept. 26, Methodist Church n White Hall; Sept. 28, Town Hall in Wrights; Sept. 30, Legiori Hall in Greenfield; Oct. 2, Farm Bureau Hall, Currollton; Oct. 3, Legion hall, Hillview; Oct. 8, summary and report meeting in the Farm Bureau Hall in Carrollton. To Leave for SIU CARROLLTON — Students who are attending Southern Illinois University at Carbondale this year will leave next week. In the group as freshmen will be Miss Marsha Journey, Allen Leininger and Terry Hillig. Dale Varble will return to the University to do graduate work and others who will resume their studies will be Miss Mignon Bishop, Roger Carter, Jack Keller and Charles Helton. Hopwood Funeral CARROLLTON — Funeral services for Benjamin Hopwood were conducted Wednesday at 2 $.m. at the Methodist Church by the Rev. R. B. Curhmings, assisted by the Rev. Roger Christiansen.
