He was a member of the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church, the Piatt County Farm Bureau, served as a board member of the Cerro Gordo School District and as a 4-H leader and was a member of the Cerro Gordo American Legion Post 117. A veteran of World War II, he served in the South Pacific as a sergeant in the 4th Marine Division. He married Lillie Black on June 21, 1946.

Surviving are his mother, Susie Gregg of Cerro Gordo; wife, Lillie; daughters, Teri Peterson and Connie Werkman, both of Decatur; sons, Jerry and wife Andrea of Milmine; Kevin and wife Lisa of Salisbury, Darin of Boca Raton, Fla. grandchildren, Tracy Shafer and husband Mike of Springfield; Rob Peterson of Decatur; Matt Werkman of Decatur; Jared and Jeffrey Gregg of Mil-mine; many nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Vinyard was born in Festus, on July 22, 1926, the son of Ward E. and Deamie M. Harmon Vinyard. He retired from PPG and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

He married Helen Drum on Oct. 4, 1947. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Kitty Thomasson and Kim Isom and husband Rick, all of Decatur; son-in-law, Robert L. Thomasson of Decatur; sisters, Birchlyn Boyer and husband Leslie; Betty Partney and Sharon Lehmbeck and husband Lyle, all of Missouri; brother, Ward Vinyard and wife Sharon of Missouri; five grandchildren, Krista Thomasson, Eric Thomasson and wife Shannon, Sarah Thomasson, Michael Thomasson and Christopher William Isom. He was preceded in death by bis parents, one sister and one brother.

Mrs. Leake was born in Mowea-qua on Sept. 10, 1929, the daughter of Delmar and Loveta Thompson Cherry. She worked at Bells Drug and A.E. Staley Mfg.

Co. and later went to work for Caterpillar Inc. as a secretary, retiring after 37 years of service. After retiring, she volunteered at Decatur Memorial Hospital before moving to Florida. She attended Northwest Christian Church, loved animals and had a host of friends.

She married William K. Leake on Feb. 18, 1950, in Decatur. The couple moved to Punta Gorda, in May 1991. She is survived by her husband; mother, Loveta Kiernan of Decatur; stepfather, Thomas Kiernan of Decatur; sisters, Mary A.

Wright and husband Allen of Decatur; Barbara Jean Buchanan and husband Russell of Bluefield, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Leake and wife Ma-dolyn and Harold Leake and wife Rose, all of Decatur; seven nieces and nephews.
