Expect Enrollment of ..'•• vji 4,800 at Edwardsville EDWARDSVILLE - An antic ipated enrollment of 4,800 stud cuts is expcdted in Edwardsvill Community • Unit School Distric 7 when classes begin here Sept 3, Dlst. Supt. A. Gordon Dodd; said today. The figure 'is 225 more thai first day enrollment last yea In the district, the superintenden said. Enrollment al the senior high school is expected to be abou 130 higher than last year with approximately 1,100 expected t attend first day classes. Facilities at the high schoo are overcrowded and cafeteria and the- auditorium stage area will be utilized for classroorr space, Dodds said. The board of education wil meet today at 8:30 p.m. at th junior high school to initiate ac tion to call for bids for a nev addition to the senior high schoo building. The new three - story wing will relieve overcrowdec classroom conditions at the school. Schools in the district wil open Tuesday with half - day session to allow administrators and teachers time to complete classroom organization, Sept. will be a full - day of school. Hospital Notes EDWARDSVILLE - One area resident was admitted and,'three persons discharged from St. "-Joseph's Hospital at Highland Wednesday. One birth was recorded today. Mrs. Lucy Schmollinger of 850 Holiaoke, Edwardsville, was admitted. Discharged were: Miss Patricia Sullivan, 523 N. Buchanan St., Mrs. Anna Thompson, 416 E. Park, and Mrs. Mabel Eberhart, Rte. 2. --•• -Mr. and Mrs.-Marvin Brakhane of 615 Fillmore are parents of a girl, born at the hospital at 5:18 a.m. today; weight 8 pounds 5 ounces.
