Hckets will be sold at the cafeteria; the day of the smorgasbord and also, ahead of time by adult members of the band boosters. The board met at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Hormell this week to discuss arrangements for the project. , Pnrncfs of Son JERSEYVILLE-Mr. and Mrs. 'Wesley Powers of Fieldon are •parents of a son born at 1:35 p.m. Monday at the Jersey Community Hospital. They have named the baby Carl Eugene and he weighed 4 pounds 10 ounces. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Godar of Hardin and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Miles and Mrs. Edith Powers of Fieldon and is a great grandson of Mrs. George Holder-field of Hardin and Mrs. Lora Gunterman of Fieldon. Before her marriage Mrs. Powers was Miss Barbara Godar. Other children of the couple are Gary Lee 6, and Kenneth Edward 4. Parents of Daughter JERSEYVILLE—Mr. and Mrs. Dale Grace of Jerseyville have given the name Wendy Jo to their infant daughter born at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Jersey Community Hospital. The baby weighed 4 pounds 15% ounces. She is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson of Portland, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grace of Dow and is a great-granddaughter of Mrs. Malissa Wilkey of Newbern. Mrs. Grace was formerly Miss Sharon Soderberg. Other children in the family are: Kimbra Ann 6; Tony Cornell 4Vz and Tracy Lynn 1^. Son Born to Local Couple JERSEYVILLE—Mrr. and Mrs. John J. Welsh of Jerseyville are the parents of a son born at 7:09 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Jersey Community Hospital. The baby has been named John David and he weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Welsh of Jerseyville and Mrs. Leo R. Rurns of Grafton. Prior to her marriage Mrs. Welsh was Miss Mary Jane Burns. The couple has another son, Robert Joseph, 2. Trailer Sales Operator Gets Probation EDWARDSVILLE — Richard Tharp, 44, erstwhile operator of a trailer sales lot near Collinsville, was granted probation for a five-year period Tuesday after a hearing before Circuit Judge Harold R. Clark. Tharp had applied for probation after pleading guilty last month to seven separate charges Of theft involving alleged conversion of mobile homes from firms over a three-year period. The trailers, reportedly worth $23,000, had been disposed of without remitting the sums to the firms owning the vehicles, the complaints recited. Under strict conditions of probation granted for five years, Tharp, who gave an address at Texarkana, Tex., is to make restitution for a $6,000 balance due the firms consigning the trailers State's Attorney Dick H. Mudge and Court Probation Officer Raymond Galloway participated in the probation hearing, which began Monday and was continued to Tuesday for additional testimony.
