Ho was 19. ltd had been a patient In St. Anthony's Hospital previous to entering Blu-Fountaln Manor two days ago. A resident of Wood River since 1907, Mr. Me- Credle had resided for many years at 282 Seventh St, Mr. McCredle was first employed by Standard 0 i 1 Co., at Neodesha, K a n s., where he worked for six months before going to Sugar Creek, Mo., and then to Wood River.. His more than 45 years with Standard Oil Co., at time of his retirement in 19!i!), made Mr. McCredle one of I he oldest em- polyes in point of service at thai time. He held the position of night supcrinlendenl at the Wood River refinery from 1918 until 1949. A longtime member of the Masonic Order, he joined I he lodge at Independence, Mo., in 1907, and was a charter member of Wood River Lodge 10(52. In 1957 he was presented with a 50 - year pin. He also belonged to the High Twelve, and Square Compass, Masonic organizations, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wood River. His wife, the former Lucy Webb, to whom he was married in 1907, at Sugar Creek, died in .1958, and a son, Edward, died in 1961. Surviving are a son, Alden McCredie, Wood River; a daughter, Graveside rites for Cheryl Marie Wiltshire, Infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wiltshire of 3lil2 Coronado Drive, were held at p.m. Monday in SI. Joseph's -emetery. The Rev. Father John Stewart of St, Matthew's Church, officiated at the service. The baby died shortly after birth Friday in St. Joseph's Hospital. Surviving beside her parents ire a sister, Catherine Sue, pa- ernal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wiltshire, Equality, and maleVna! grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weeks, Drexel, Mo. Dlesk,, granddaughters, Mrs. George Mich., three Lynn, Devi, and Andrea Dlcsk, and two grandsons, Roger McCredie, Auburn, and Lt. Donald McCredie, Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Wood River. Visiting hours at Marks Mortuary, Wood River, will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday and until noon Thursday when the body will be taken to the church. Masonic: rites will be conducted Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Mortuary. Madison County Chaper of the American Cancer Society has been designated by Mr. McCredie's family as a memorial fund. Deitz EDWARDSVILLE — Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m Wednesday at Weber Funeral "Home for Clarence W. (Cap) Deitz, 68, of 334 W. Union St., who died Monday at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where lie had been a patient nine days. Deitx, a lifetime resident of Edwardsville and an employe at: Shell Oil Co. refinery until his retirement; three years ago, was born here June 3, 1895, a son of the late Frank B. and Minnie Bernreulher Doit/. He was married to Pauline Muench, who died in 1929. On Dec. 15, 1939, he was married here to Mable Bollman, who survives. Mrs. Vazis, 85, had been in fail- ng heal Hi for a year and entered the hospital a week ago. She was I he widow of Frank Vaxis. Survivors are four sons, Fred, (joorgc, Oscar, and Adolph, SI. Following services Thursday at 1 p.m. in Hoffmeister Colonial, M64 Chippewa, St. Louis, the body will be taken to Bunker Hill for burial in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours at the mortuary will be after 4 p.m. today. Lamparter In failing health for a year and a patient in Alton Memorial Hospital for three days, Arthur C. Lamparter, 810 Shelly St., died nt 12:50 a.m. today in lite hospital. Mr. Lamparter, who was 7G, Meyer tttf ant was a retired Alton Water Co. engineer with 40 years service with the company at time of his retirement eight years ago. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. [-Jenry Lamparter, he was born Ian. 3, 1887, and before moving to Alton 45 years ago, had lived at St. Charles, Mo. He attended the St. Charles schools and was married in St.. Charles Oct. 1C, 1906, to the former Laura Buckshot. Mr. Lamparter' was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where ic had been active and recently was named an honorary elder. Surviving beside his widow are five daughters, Mrs. William Dugge, Mrs. Charles Kopsie, Mrs. John Miles, and Mrs. William Page, Alton, and Mrs. Henry Kessman, Florida; six sons, Arthur E., Pete, Harold and Paul, Alton; Carl, East Alton, and Elroy Rockford; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Hamilton, Alton, and Mrs. Roy Scott, Springfield; 26 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren, A son, Stanley was killed in action in World War II in Sicily. The Rev. Paul Schroedcr, pas tor of Faith Lutheran Church, will conduct funeral rites Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park. Welling Rites Conducted Monday Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Catherine Welling were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Smith Funeral Home, Wood River, followed by burial in Upper Alton Cemetery. The Rev. Vandergriff Joseph Richard (Dick) Vandor griff, a retired construction work er, died at 4:25 a.m. today a his home, 820 Alby St., afte two years of failing health. was 70. 'Born in Macoupin County, Jan 8, 1893, he was a son of the lat Mr. and Mrs. James B. Vander griff, and was the last of eigh children in his family. He attended the Macoupi County school. He moved to A ton 23 years ago. He was former member of Greenfiel Methodist Church. Survivors are his widow, th former Gladys Craig, to whom he was mai-ried Dec. 6, 1913, CaiTollton; a daughter, Mrs Helen Thaxton, Brighton; 1 grandchildren, and eight grea grandchildren.
