The new ordinances prohibit the leaving'of junked cars, etc. at such points and sets a 24-hou limit. Other vehicles cannot be parked for a period longer than 24 hour? at such places without special permission being obtained from the chief of police. Vehicles that are left in violation of the ordinance may be towed away to a sale spot or service station for storage until repossessed by the owner, who is obligated by provision ol the ordinance to pay a reasonable stor- , age service fee. Balloon Distance Race Scheduled At Jerseyville JERSEYVILLE — A balloon will be given each boy and girl, aged 4 through 16, who enter a box in the Lightbox parade sponsored by the Recreation Department Thursday evening. Each balloon will have a stamped post card attached to be returned to Jerseyville. and five dollars will br awardedj the boy or girl whose released gas balloon travels the greatest distance from this city. The recreation department sponsored party starts at 6:30 p.m. with a golf chipping contest. Tickets for tlie golf game are free and may be obtained from the playground leaders. Prizes are avail- ble for the good golf shots.
