The Warriors close the season at 16-9 and 6-0 in the Little Okaw Valley Their T-Shirts By AL LAGATTOLLA StaffWriter Bad weather has made Rick Hartrick the guy waiting in the wings. Hartrick's Olney Lady Tiger basketball team has already ousted Altamont and has earned a berth in the Warrensburg Super-Sectional.

Now his team awaits the winner of tonight's Sullivan-Tolono Unity winner a make-up game after Thurs day's scheduled start was postponed. Tip off is 7 p.m. in Argenta. "I haven't decided," Hartrick said as to whether he'll show to scout the game. "I went up there Tuesday (when Sullivan beat Monticello) and I watched them play in the Mattoon Tournament (Christmas)." Hartrick hasn't watched Unity in action, but knows Sullivan.

"Sullivan gets all the press," Hartrick "Everybody thinks that's who's going to win, but I think whoever gets to the'chanv pionship of the sectional has a chance to Sullivan will still be without the services of Carinna Elder, who has been out since Christmas. She was examined Thursday and a decision was made for her to undergo ar-thoscopic surgery. "We were very, very hopeful," said Sullivan coach Scott Thomas. "There's no doubt she'll be 100 percent next year, but it's a blow." The postponement puts Sullivan in a dangerous position. Olney has scouted the Lady Redskins and can properly prepare for them, while Sullivan must concentrate on the task at hand Unity.

"We are very determined," Thomas s.aid. "We are still ready to play, but it really affects our amount of preparation we can do and I do think it will affect the game Monday night. "If I was writing a script, this wouldn't be how I wrote it." The Lady Redskins are the top-rated team in Claas but Olney is no slouch, ewCrfng as the state's No. 4 Class A team; The Lady Tigers are 26-1, their only loss coming at the hands of Charleston, which lost to Mat-toon in the Centralia Sectional final. Olney stopped Altamont 73-52 Thursday.

"I think it was a lot like a boxing match in so far as we won the first three rounds and there was a lot of sparring going on throughout," Hartrick said. "We went up 18 at the half. In the second half, it was fairly even. We were in foul trouble." But now his team must wait for a winner. A couple extra days of rest can also be factored in as the Saturday winner must play on a shorter rest.

"It can't do anything but help," Hartrick said. "It gives us more time for preparation and more time to focus on what we want to do. "It's not that I want any unfair advantage. I certainly want it to (be an advantage). If we were snowed out, it'd be the same thing for us." "We just have to take it like it comes," Thomas said.

"We had no problem getting to Argenta. They're (Unity) the ones who said they couldn't make it." Sullivan was set. "We were ready to' play (Thursday)," Thomas said. "We had a really good practice the day before." But Thomas knows there could have been dangers. "We didn't want to put kids' lives in jeopardy over a basketball game." A season ago, Olney was classified as Class AA and reached the super-sectional where it lost to East St.

Louis Lincoln, which went on to finish third in the state. The Lady Tigers eliminated Charleston in the sectional round a season ago. But all that is still in the distant fox Sullivan, which doesn't have a bve to the suDer- sectional. It must beat Unity to get there. And being No.

1 is no guarantee. No. 2 Luther North was ousted by Marillac Tuesday. "If we don't play our best basketball game all year, we don't play Olney Monday night," Thomas said. "It doesn't matter what your reputation is.

It doesn't matter what your record is. Every team in the tournament is undefeated or they wouldn't still be here." One way or another, the Lady Redskins will deal with the situation. 'There's nothing we can do about it, so we might as well not complain," Thomas said. Andy Scott Bennett 2-04, J. Kasey 4-2-11, Austin 84-20, Lee 10-4-27.
