Ledyord Girl To Wed Michael Koons, Swea City LEDYARD - Roberta Wentworth was guest of honor at a shower at the Methodist church here on Friday evening, Oct. 7. Mrs. George Werlnga, aunt oi the groom, was In charge of the program. Mrs. Wm. Bauman had devotions, two piano selections were played by Kaye Engelbarts, Kathy Christ, Dorothy Christ and Diane Sheldahl presented a skit and Mrs. Wer- inga closed the program with a prayer. The bride-to-be was assisted in opening the gifts by her sisters, Mrs. Delbert Schaeller and Mrs. Maurice Blair. Mrs. Fred Munyer, Mrs. Herman Goetz, Mrs. Ervin KUnk- siek and Mrs. Harold Warner were in charge of the decorations. Mrs. Albert Looft and Mrs. Cecil Pingel were in charge ol the kitchen, Mrs. Christ Engelbarts and Mrs. Amos Kessel were dining room hostesses and Mrs. Ray Curtis of Elmore poured coffee, and Cathy Christ and Diane Kessel poured punch. Gail Bauman was in charge of the guest book. On Oct. 9 a shower was held at the home of the bridegroom's aunt in Fairmont, Mrs. Olga Johnson. Attending from here were Mrs. Harold Wentworth and Brenda, Mrs. Maurice Blair and girls, Mrs. Delbert Schaeller of Burl and Mrs. Ethel Kessel of Elmore. Tuesday evening Cor a and Lucy Warner of Blue Earth were hostesses at a shower. Robert and Michael Koons of Swea City will be married on Oct. 22 at the Swea City Baptist church. Slave Auction At Lakota Of Student Services A "Slave Auction" was held in front of the Lakota City Hall at 7 p.m. on Friday. Services of members of the boys and girls basketball teams were auctioned off by auctioneer Jake Peterson. Proceeds from the auction will go into the athletic fund and will be used to purchase new uniforms. The young people worked either alone or in groups on Saturday. New Guidance Counselor For LuVerne High LUVERNE - Phillip Iverson is the new guidance counselor for the LuVerne Community School system. His work includes aiding in preparing students for their future occupations and helping them adjust to society. Mr. Iverson, who likes to hunt and fish, lives on a farm near Hardy and commutes to work. He studied agriculture at Iowa State University, Ames,v where he received his bachelor of science degree and earned his master of arts degree in the fields of industrial arts and guidance at Mankato State College, Mankato, Minn., where he was also active in agricultural education.
