believe and caused great sorrow among her many friends She had been ill for a week or more and on Wednesday she was taken to St Josephs hospital In Lexington where It was thought an operation for morning her soul winged its flight to eternity Mrs Shipp was formerly Mies Jennie Ferrell of this place and was the daughter of the late Captain Thomas and Mrs Bettie Ferrill She was 29 years old and and was an unusually handsome and attractive woman In 1896 she became the wife of Mr Shipp since which time she has resided in Lexington Georgetown and Cynthiana She was noted for her many acts of kindess and deeds of charity It was only last Christmas that she made many a poor home brighter by her remembrances Before her marriage she was saleslady for Mr Oldham in this city and was extremely popular with a large circle of friends Besides her husband and one beautiful little daughter she is survived by her mother and the following sisters and brothers Mesdames Oldham of this city Thomas Ellison of the county aifd Edward Moberly of Ford and Metsrs and DT Ferrill both of this city To all of these the sympathy of the community goes out Her funeral services were conducted Friday at the Christian Church in Cynthiana by Rev Ellis assisted by Rev I Spencer of Lexington after which her remains were laid to rest in Battle Grove Cemetery A Letter of Sympathy The following beautiful letter removal of Mr Parrish and family trom this city to Franklin county Mr Par rish has for quite a number of years been in the revenue service proving himself most capable His removal is caused by his appointment as Superb tendant of Colonel Moores distilleries near Frankfort His new position pays a handsome salary and we congratulate Mr Parrish upon his good luck He left Monday to assume his new duties Mrs Parrish and her two handsome boys will go In the course of a month or two It will be hard for their friends to give up this estimable fani ily but the best wishes will follow them to their new home mented Professor Durrett White whose death was such a sad blow to his many friends and admirers Mr Vaughn was for about ten years County clerk of Estill and was highly respected and honored by the people of that section His letter is complimentary and justly BO and as we read it our hearts bleed anew over the untimely death of our beloved friend The following is the letter for wnich we husband I hasten to extend to you and your family my deepest sympathy in your sad bereavement From my first acquaintance with Mr White in the year 1881 when it was my good fortune to be a pupil in his school there always existed between us the warmest and most loyal friendship His supreme honesty genial traits and superior attainments will continue to live though his great spirit has passed beyond It is sad and unfortunate that his resourceful brain is forever numbed and his pen from which emanated so many brilliant and instructive productions to gladden and enlighten the hearts und souls of humanity has been laid away for the last time In his untimely death my dear madam I deeply mourn the loss of a dearest and most valued friend That providence may ever guide and protect the bereaved
