Saturday night He had been in ill health for quite awhile from rheumatism hut WAS improved and his death WAS entirely unexpected General Collier was GC years old and was a native of Garrard county He was a pallant soldier the Federal army during the Civil War and has filled many public offices He was Adjutant General under Governor Bradley and succeeded Leslie Combs as fom misMoner of Pensions for Kentucky BISHOP THOMAS UNDERWOOD DUDLEY head of the Kentucky Diocese died very suddenly last week of apoplexy while in New York City His death has cast a gloom over Kentucky especially in Episcopalian circles He was one of Louisvilles most honored citizens broadmi ned and public spirited in every way His death leaves the Diocese without a head as there is no one who can assume the office of Bishop without being consecrated His suc cessor will not be chosen before May according to reports THE socalled Panama hats which so many are proud to own are an out an out swindle according to Rein berg
