What a surprise tQ learn that the recipe for a Cake of Love which appeared in this column recently was brought here by a certain Lake Providence miss who had been visiting in Kentucky To her we give full credit another Kentucky recipe of entirely different nature a recipe for a cup Friendship one cup Thoughtfulness creamed together with a pinch of powdered tenderness and very lightly beaten in a bowl of loyalty Add a cup of Faith one cup of Hope and one cup Charity Be sure to add a spoonful of gaiety that sings and also the ability to laugh at little things Moisten with the sudden tears of heart-felt sympathy and bake in a good mannered pan and serve repeatedly Recently PATSY WILSON served the members of the Sprig and Twig Garden Club a rich red-velvet heart-thaped cake All exclaimed over the unusual dessert and in course of conversation it was learned that the recipe had quite a history It seems that some of the relatives were guests in a famous New York hotel where they too enjoyed the red-velvet cake and expressed the desire for the recipe The chef obliged and accompaning the recipe was a bill for $20000 Protests were made in vain but pay the bill they did Not to be out done completely the travellers decided upon their return home to share their expensive recipe with all their friends And Patsy is generous enough to share it with each of you free of charge RED VELVET
