THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 1963 ALTON EVENING TELEGRAPH PAGE NINE Man Arrested After Chessen Lane Crash A two-car collision at E. Broadway and Chessen Lane at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday resulted in the arrest of one driver by Alton police. A car driven by Oliver Wendell Ratliff, 38, 1567 Brookwood Drive, Rosewood Heights crossed over into the westbound lane and Gibson Retires from Post at Beall Tool WOOD RIVER - Charles Gibson, 71, supervisor of the struck., an auto driven by Nancy Carol Fee, 22, 58 Lorena Ave., Wood River, Police said. Born Jan. 28, 1892, in Pike lounty, Mo., he came to work at Beall Tool in 1915 as a millwright. Russell N. Gibson, a broth- r, also employed at Beall Tool as machine shop foreman, will soon have 52 years with the irm. This combined with his brother's 44 years of service gives he brothers a total of 96 years ,vith Beall Tool. Retired County Official's Leg Fracture Is Set Ae leg fracture suffered Tues day by William T. (Bus) Carson, etired county deputy treasurer, was set today at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been a patient in the hospital since the accident. Carson, who resides at LaSalle Hotel, retired as deputy in the county treasurer's office last November after serving for more than 18 years as deputy and chief deputy. He was first named a deputy by Thomas Henry of Alton in 1EW2. Other treasurers under whom lie had served were George Ambrosius, Mrs. Ambrosius, Guy Harper, James T. Callahan, and Dan W. McGee.
