on this the 1st day of July 1936 I BEAN Clerk of Bogalusa State of Louisiana do hereby certify that the above and foregoing four (4) pages constitute a true and correct copy of a Proclamation as issued by the Mayor of the City of Bogalusa State of Louisiana on July 1st 1936 pioclaiming the result of the special election held in said City MYERS YOUTH DIED Leavel Myers 4-year-old son of Mr and Mrs John of Isabel died at his home last Thursday from diphtheria and was buried Friday at Isabel the Rev McCullum officiating -and the-G-F Poole Mortuary in charge BRES8LER TO NEW YORK 1 Sol Bressler popular manager of the Stanley Shop will leave tomorrow night for New York City on a buying trip He expects to be gone two weeks Ernest Chandler brother of A Chandler who is a pastor in Kentucky serving while attending the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary is visiting here for two weeks MISS ANDREWS HOME Miss Elsie Andrews returned home Friday after a delightful two visit in Metairie with her cousin' Miss' Grace Lind Accompanying Miss Andrews home were Miss Lind Walter Coco-lough Leo Forrester and Colman Salter all of Metairie The visitors returned home Sunday with the exception of Mr Salter who is remaining a few days as the guest of Ernest Mc-Taggart TWO BIRTHS Two babies were born at the Hospital during the past week They were a daughter to Mr and Mrs Smith 901 Avenue on July 2 Two Hundred Seventy three (273) votes in number representing an assessed valuation of $52779000 in amount cast IN FAVOR of Proposition No 2 as hereinabove set forth THEREFORE in accordance with the authority of the City of Bogalusa State of Louisiana assembled at the regular meeting place of said Com mission Council in the City Hall Bogalusa Louisiana on Wednesday July 1 1936 at Eleven (11:00) A which canvass shows the following result upon the propositions submitted at the said special election to-wit: PROPOSITION No 1 Shall the City of Bogalusa State of Louisiana incur debt and Issue bonds to the amount of Thirty-five Thousand (35-00000) Dollars to run eight (8) yffis from' date thereof with interest at the maximum rate of Five (5 per centum per annum for the purpose of opening constructing paving and improving streets within the (City of Bogalusa State of Louisiana title to which shall be in the public PROPOSITION No 2 Shall the City of Bogalusa State of Louisiana incur debt and issue bonds to the amount of Five Thousand $500000) Dollars to run eight (8) years from date thereof with interest at the maximum rate of Five (5) per centum per annum for the purpose of constructing waterworks extensions and improvements as works of public improvement within and for the City of Bogalusa Louisiana together with the necessary equipment and furnishings therefor title to
