County Concert Season Opens October 29 The Kossuth County Community Concert Association will open its four concert season Oct. 29 with Four Go Dancing. This Is a dance group that features the many aspects of the dance through the ages. The executive board of the association met last week and went over activities for the nomine vear. The concerts for the Algona series are Four Go Dancing, Oct. 29, Lee Evans Trio (Jazz tri °) Feb - 24 » Tne Revelers Male Quartet, March 5, and the Marlowe Pianos (duo piano) March 16. Highlights of other concerts in the area that members of the association are admitted to are The de Cormier Singers at Forest City Sept. 27 and The Philadelpia Symphony Orchestra at Fairmont April 14. Tickets for members will be mailed to them in the near future as soon as the newcomer campaign has been concluded. Membership in the concert series is available at this time to new people in the county who have moved in since last March. If you hare not been contacted and wish to have membership, contact Mrs. Clara Keith. This was the first meeting for the new president of the association, Steve R. George. One of the first things done by the ex- cutive board was to put the board members of the association that were elected last spring on the rotation basis of terms. Those on the board for a term of one year that expire March 1967 are Ted Herbst, Tom Rich, 01- lie Nasby, Mrs. Verne McClure, Mrs. Ron Taylor, Mrs. Ted Smith. Terms that expire in March 1968 are. William Conn, Mrs. Clara Keith, Russell Guster, Mrs. Wes Bartlett, Kirk Hayes, Mrs. Nat Bangs. Terms Aloono, (la.) Members of the board of directors and chairmen from other towns in the county are Edmund O'Brien, Whittemore, Florence Reynolds, Titonka, Mrs. Paul Erdman, Wesley, Mrs. D. J. Welp and Mrs. E. J. Menke, Bancroft, Frank Ryerson, Burt, Mrs. JimDodds, Lone Rock, Mrs. Arnold Hill, Bode, Mrs. Raymond Stone, LuVerne, and Wilhelmina Harm s, West Bend. _ The biggest machine man has ever built is a huge radio telescope. Union 4-H The Union Boy's 4-H Club held their meeting Oct. 11 at the Civic Center. There were six new members present. The officers for the coming year were elected. They are Mike Hansen, president; Dennis Richter, vice president; Tim Molacek, secretary; and Mike Nitchals and Bob Thilges, reporters. The county off ice candidates were selected. They are Mike Nitchals and Dennis Richter. Tom McEnroe, Bobby Dodds, Edward Klilsholm and Terry Rutledge gave demonstrations. It was family night and potluck was served.
