A.H.S. band gives concert ',' &£' ' y> "" ^' THE ALGONA HIGH SCHOOL band, under the direction of Russell Guster, is shown during its annual Winter concert last Tuesday night in the high school auditorium. The Burl Methodist church with an all day meeting with luncheon at noon Served by the Burt W.S.C.S. members. Play dated at Burt school this Friday Burt — Take It Easy, a three- act farce-comedy by William D. Fisher, will be given at the Burt high school Friday, April 2, at 8 p.m. Taking part will be Victoria Koestler, Merwyn Cunningham, Jane Barslou, Douglas Black, Duane Peter, John Fries, Linda Fairbanks, Clint Patterson, Diane Hoppus and Warren Waltman. The play is directed by Richard L. Hopkins, English and speech teacher. The technical director will be Robert Ortman, a student. MONEY IS NEEDED Mrs. Russell Patterson, Kossuth chairman, of the recently-' launched Easter Seal fund drive in behalf of crippled children reports every household in Kossuth/ has by now received tne 1965 Easter Seals. Public response to the appeal will determine how many of the handicapped persons in Kossuth will receiver services during the year from the Iowa Society for Crip- pled'Children and Adults. CLUB TOURS STORE The Burt Woman's club met March 29. They toured Read's furniture store in Algona. Robert Watson gave a talk on decorating. Club members returned to Burt for refreshments at the Cunningham Tea Room. Hostesses were Lcona Lacy, Ruth Clapsaddle, Rena Buell, Ruth Patterson. Millers had their 43rd wedding at their home March 28. Present were the David Millers, Chino, Calif. Harold Heimers family, Humboldt, Bernard Millers, and Ronald Millers, Algona, and the Aaron Kleibers, Burt, the Rudnieks and Neal, Jewell, Roger Hansens, Dayton, Jean Christensen, Algona. Mrs. Win. Heller, Glendale, Calif., and Harold Hinderer, San Gabriel, Calif., both phoned. Rev. Wm. Scheer was a caller. Esther Rudmick and Bert Miller were married at West Bend March 28, 1922. 24 TO START SCHOOL The Kindergarten Round-Up at Burt school was held at 7:30 p.m; March 25. The class will be Julie Bode, Dawn Opheim, Maria Millman, Randy Grubb, Steven Pannkuk, Joel Stenzel, Nicholas McGuire, Dawn Reutzel, Judy Foertsch, Debra Christensen, David Nelson, Rodney Studer, Gary Scott, Russell Eimers, Rodney Steven, Dixie Harms, De Anna Smidt, Fred Lain, Anthony Dixon, Jurey Wittmus. BUYS TERRIL CAFE Mrs. Irene Lauritson has bought a cafe at Terril, Her daughter and husband, the Marvin Koaglcs, will assist her in the cafe. Mrs. Lauritson will move April 1. Her son Craig will stay at the Mike Long home until school is out. The Alvin Klop- pens, coach and teacher, will rent the Lauritson house.
