^ OUR HOPE FOR TOMORROW The ducklings, such as are shown in the picture, have no thought of the future. They are concerned with food and shelter for the moment. They have no thought of tomorrow for only humans have the capacity to think ahead. Today the world is in such a state that the temptation is great for each of us to imitate the ducklings by crowding all but the moment out of our minds. We need the morrow, however, in order that we can strive'for a chance to make things better. Where there is no faith in the future, no assurance of a to- morrow, there is not the willpower to do with today. If we have no hope there is no reason to strive, to seek, to find. But if there be a tomorrow then there is a chance to redeem the mistakes of yesterday and there is an opportunity to fashion a better world. By attending our churches we can have our faith and hope of a more glorious tomorrow periodically renewed and strengthened. With the Church directing us toward God for the guidance of Divine Providence, our nation can survive as a light which can quench evil in the world.
