The digits have become household words. Customers have had little trouble remembering the numbers—every woman knows what you mean when you say Chanel No. 5. The IRS fast is herding income tax payers into the same faceless category as it caters to the electronic computer. And the ATT stoutly ignores all protests against its dropping exchange names for lengthy strings of digits that stand for paying customers. The origin of some of the numbers that business has made brand names goes far back in history as well as far from the market place. For example, we are told that in the 1820s a Mr. Brand was chef ant, 6-12 insect repellent, Eterna 21, and 2500 Design, which is office furniture made by All-Steel Equipment of Aurora, 111. And then there was a Faith 7— not a brand name but a capsule hat Americans followed anxiously on its recent earth. Glyiiii to Give Glynn Degree At S1U Rites EDWARDSVILLE — Professor John J.
