I'A(JE TWENTY-FOUR ALTON EVENING TELEGRAPH WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12, 1963 Judy Ellerman Heads Jersey Rainbow Girls .JERSEYVILLE - Miss Judy Ellormnn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ellerman of Jersey villp, was installed as worthy advisor of Jerseyvillp Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls Saturday evening in the Masonic Temple. Miss Ellornian was a member of the 19(v) graduating class of the. Jersey Community High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She will continue her studies at the University of Illinois. Her escort for the installation was Harold Fry. Other elective officers and their escorts were; Mimi Grabbe, associate advisor, Bill Downey; Diane Bunvig, Charity, Bill Pirtle; Jan Heiderscheid, hope, J i m Trash; Judy Cope, Faith, escorted by her twin brother, Jim Cope. Appointive officers installed were; Martha Sue Powel, chaplain; Judy Chipman, drill leader; Gail Kincade, love; Diane Pickerel, religion; Sharon Angel, nature; Barbara Weller, immortality; Carol Guilander, fidelity; Claudia Gross, patriotism; Carol Kruse, service; Annette Boner, confidential observer; Linda Gilworth, outer observer; Sherry Al len, musician; Rowena Redlich choir director; Judy Ringhausen, recorder; Maetha Jean Jones, treasurer. Mrs. Aron Cope is mother advisor. The retiring worthy advisor, Sandra Russell, was escorted by Jim Cope; Janice Stevens, installing recorder, was escorted by Ed- Ewards Breed; Mary Naylor, Installing Marshal was escorted by Jim Trask; Barbara Gary, installing chaplain, was escorted by Jim Parsell. Nancy Cope was installing musician and soloists were Sandy Ellerman and Judy Cope. The installing drill leader was Rosemary Whittleman. Miss Ellerman advanced to her station through a guard of De- Molay boys including Tom Long, Eddie Downey, Eddie Breed, Virgil Isringhausen, Dave Weller, David Duval, Mike Reynolds^ and Jim Gary. The new worthy advisor received a bouquet of roses from the Rainbow Asembly, presented to her by Craig Henderson, son of Dr. and Mrs. H. V. Henderson. After taking her station Miss Ellerman introduced her parents and family, presenting her mother with a bouquet of red roses and her father with a boutain- naire. During this ceremony her sister, Sandra, sang "Three Little Words." Miss Russell received the pas' CLOSE OUT! Ask Divorce Decrees In Macoupin Court CARLINVILLE — A suit f o r divorce was filed in Macoupin County Circuit Court by Irving R. Deck, Of Gillespie, against Stella Deck, on grounds of desertion. Also filed was a complaint by Delores Anderson against Russell Anderson, of Gillespie, charging desertion. He is presently serving in the U.S. Army. In other action in Circuit Court, by acting judge Francis J. Bergen, Robert J. Schey, of Wilsonville, was granted a divorce from Sandra K. Schey. Also, Jennie M. Davis, of Bunker Hill, was granted a separate maintenance decree from Raymond M. Davis. advisor's jewel from Miss Eller man and the assembly gave bf.-r a Rainbow Bible, presented b> Mrs. Cope. When the Biblr was closed the officers formed a rros: and Sandra Ellerman sang "The lord's Prayer." The Rev. M. Edwards Breed, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, pronounml the benediction. A reception following the installation. The mothers club served refreshments and Rosemary Whittleman, Donna Roth and Susan Staples presided at the refreshment table. Sandy Chipman was in charge of the guest book. California Visitor JERSEYVILLE - Mrs. E. J. Armentrout of Hayward, Calif., is visiting for a week or 10 days with her father, Lester Cory, and with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Flamm. the John Cory family and other relatives in the area. Mrs. Annen- strout was formerly Miss Marian Cory of Jerseyville. Areas of Child Protection Are Set Up in Bill SPRINGFIELD. 111. (Special- Organization of child protection districts by any two or more adjacent counties having a combined population of not to exceed 150,000 and situated in the same julucial circuit, is proposed in legislation which has been offered in the Senate of the Illinois General Assembly. Chief sponsor was Sen. Gordon Kerr (R-Brookport). Sen. Kerr, who was joined in submitting the bill by Sens. John Gilbert (R - Carbondale); John Graham (R - Barrington); and Robert Cherry (D-Chicago); said he measure includes provision or a referendum and that a tax nvolved would be at a rate not o exceed .05 per cent to pay each county's share. A companion bill would amend the Family Court Act to provide that a court may commit a child to a Child Protection facility il :he court feels a dependent child would benefit from services provided by a protection district Lieut. ,Gov. Samuel Shapiro (D- Kankakee) referred the two bill to the Senate Municipalities Committee. Miss Judy Rowe Honored at Jersey JERSEYVILLE — Mrs. Pau W. Reddish and Mrs. Homer Law der of Jerseyville entertained a a luncheon and shower Saturday at the Victorian Inn in Jersey ville complimentary to Miss Judj Louise Rowe of Lovington, 111. fiancee of the Rev. Sidney J Hormell. The honoree was presented a collection of. linen The marriage of Miss Rowe and the Rev. Hormell will be at 7:3C p.m. June 30 at the United Pres byterian Church in Bethany, 111. where the Rev. Hormell is pas tor. The prospective groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Hor mell of Jerseyville and Miss Rowe's parents are Mr. and Mrs Eugene C. Rowe of Lovington.
