Miss Rochleau Of Algona To Wed, December Algeria, (la.) Upper Dec Maine* TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1966 CAROLYN ROCHLEAU Mr. and Mrs. Victor Roch- leau, Algona, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Carolyn Jean, to Larry A. Gibbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Gibbs, Boone. The bride - to - be, a graduate of Algona High School and State -College of Iowa, teaches mathematics in the Waterloo public schools. Mr. Gibbs, a graduate of Boone High School, served four years in the U.S. Air Force, attended Boone Junior College two years and is now a junior at State College of Iowa. The wedding will take place Dec. 26, at Trinity Lutheran church, Algona. Guest Night Is Hosted By St. Joe Court C.D.A. held their annual Guest Night Wednesday evening with 150 guests and members in attendance. State officers, Jessie Maley, Regent, Waterloo; Anna Storr, Secretary, Pocahontas, and Marcella Fandel, Monitor, Whittemore, with officers and past regents from neighboring courts, members and non-members from St. Joseph's parish with Rev. Leo C. Schumacher in attendance. The guests were welcomed by Mrs. N. J. Weydert, regent, followed by a short program and social evening. Five hundred was played, with Mrs. Connie Kunkel and Mrs. Paul Thilges receiving prizes. Mrs. Richard Ludwig, St. Benedict, received door prize. - o Riverdale Rustlers Unit I 4- H Club held their Sept. meeting in St. Joseph's hall, opening with the Pledge of Allegiance. The leaders showed the girls how to complete their record books. A report was given on the results of Fair exhibits and demonstrations. Hostesses were Elizabeth Zeimet and her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Milford Plathe were given a housewarming Sunday evening in their horn e when the Farmerette 500 club met for their regular monthly gathering with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kohi- haas and club members husbands as guests. Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Plathe received high prize and Mr. and Mrs. Ralphael Faber received second high. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Stacy, Lisa and Marcia, Atdiinson, Kansas, were weekend visitors here in the honxe^Qf Mrs, Stacy's parent^, Mr. and "Mrs. Ray Thilges and family. BANCROFT - Mrs. Helen Kemna and Mrs. Anna Wagner of Algona recently accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zeimet of Humboldt, when they took Mrs. George Kruecker to her horn e in Tracy, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Hicks and David were Sunday dinner guests at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Doocy and Mike. Mrs. William Kennedy was a medical patient at Holy Family hospital in Estherville last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hayden and baby of Spencer were weekend guests at the home of her mother, Mrs. Clem Elsbecker. Mr. and Mrs. Don (R.J.) Welp held a dinner on Sunday in honor of their son Kevin's fifth birthday. Guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Win. Finn of Algona, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Welp and family and Mr. and Mrs. John Welp all of Bancroft. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyer of Arlington, Minn, recently visited their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Behnkendorf and boys, and celebrated their forty- eighth wedding anniversary, and Jerry Behnkendorfs eleventh birthday. Merit Scholarship A National Merit Scholarship letter of commendation has been received by David Lee Gade, Shakopee, Minn, high school senior, as a result of his recent test. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Gade of Algona.
