(AP)—A small group of white men picket cd a Fort Wayne Auditorium Wednesday night where the Rev. Martin Luther King, Negro leader, addressed a mixed crowd. Police said one of the white pickets, Chuck Edgar, 35, Fort Wayne, was removed from the scene because he couldn't produce any identification. Another picket identified himself as Jack Miller of Fort Wayne and said he was spokesman for Citizens for Equality Through Separation. Miller termed it a rightist group and said members believed Negroes "inferior to whites on the basis of intellectual, moral and emotional stability.'-' Miller and about five other white men carried banners proclaiming, "Equality Yes, Integration No, No, No." And "Fort Wayne get the facts, Don't be fooled." More than 3,000 persons, about a fourth of them white, jammed the Scottish Rite Auditorium to hear King. Loudspeakers were installed outside for the overflow. "The Negro today will suffer sacrifice and even die to be free," Dr. King said. "Now is the time to get rid of segregation. Now is the time to make the American dream a reality." Rain, High Temperatures Are General By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS The southwest wind carried more simmer-or-soak weather into Illinois today. Temperatures again approached or reached 90 except where thundershowers afforded limited moderation. Six weather stations had 90s Wednesday — Belleville, Mollne, Quincy, Springfield, Vandalia and St. Louis. Heavy showers held down temperatures at Rantoul and Peoria Wednesday. Rantoul had .88 of an nch of rain and a high of 80. Peoria 1.45 shower braked the :emperature rise at 82. Forecasters said scattered showers were most likely in late afternoon and evening today and again Friday. They said there is nothing to indicate any material hange on Saturday. Watson, a pretty fair athlete himself in high school and college, looked down from the bench recently to find a defendant wearing a sweatshirt labeled "goof-off Champ." The "champ" got 30 days.
