Upper DCS Maine* TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1966 PERSONALS JOAN DIAMOND, Vivian Hagen, Lynn Dole, Helen Ferris Jane Cowan, LaVonne Peer and Madelyn Priebe are entertaining Tuesday, October 11 at the Country Club. MRS. JOHN Dutton has been at Omaha, with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dutton, to whom a child was born recently. MRS. MILTON Dahl left Friday for Pella and there joined her daughter, Mrs. Merle Pratt, who with the children, John, Dave and Debbie, will gototheOzarks. The trip was won by Mrs. Pratt and Included reservations at a motel, meals for those whom she wanted as guests. Enroute home after the weekend, they will go to Noel, Mo. where Mrs. Dahl had visited previously a few years ago. MR. AND MRS. Harold Hobson and Harol Schumacher, Whittemore, took Mrs. Schumacher to Iowa City one day last week for a check-up at University hospital. MRS. JOHN Helmers, who has been visiting with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carlson, Brainerd, Minn., has been hospitalized there. MRS. MYRA Ostrum has returned from a five-week stay at Oelwein where she was with a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Ellis, 87, who was sick and died Saturday, Oct. 1. Mrs. Ellis' funeral services were held there Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ostrum came from Sherburn, Minn, for the rites and brought Mrs. Ostrum home. MR. AND MRS. A. B. Oakland have returned from a visit with their son, John atTunkHan- nack, Pa. John is employed with the Bechtel Refining and Petroleum Co. He took his parents to New York City for the weekend during which time they saw Ginger Rogers in "Hello Dolly" Enroute home they stopped at Delaware, Ohio and visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Presthus. MRS. JEAN Wadsworth and her sister, Mrs. Margaret Hofmaster, are leaving soon on a conducted tour which will take them to Chicago, where they will see the former Algona friend, Mabel Carr. They will go to Niagara Falls, then to points in Canada, among them Vancouver. They will be gone about a week. DENA KOHLHAAS and Mrs. Nick Fisch drove to Eldora Thursday to see the "mums" planted at the boys home there. The flowers cover a few acres and are a beautiful sight. Mrs. Fisch, a great lover of flowers, makes African violets her hobby and It is she and Mrs. Beulah Richardson who grow them in great numbers and varieties. HOWARD FRENCH was ^brought to the Good Samaritan Jjtome Thursday from Veterans hospital, Des Moines. His wife Is also at the home and is making 4jood recovery from surgery and a sickness of long standing. DENA KOHLHAAS took Mrs. Fern Foster and Mrs. Nell McCall, Omaha, to Fort Dodge Tuesday, a trip made just to enjoy the lovely scenery.
