" .-•• '\: ' V i ' ' V But, Mom! Why Do I Have To Practice Today? Many adults have felt that if, in the growing-up period of their lives, certain' things had happened, if they had been placed under the influence of different people or in a different environment, if their parents had insisted that they attend an institution of higher learning, their lives and careers would then have been more along the lines they desire. Some wish that they had been "forced"—not a pleasant word but often effective—to take, for instance, violin lessons or some other training boys and girls often receive. Parents can and should insist that their youngsters get the important basic disciplinary training they need. This is true not only as it applies to certain courses in high school, such as science and mathematics, but also to spiritual and moral training. If they are gently but firmly led to attend church with their parents, they will some day realize the worth and help it gives them and it will not be another case of "what might have been," such as the violin or vocal lessons they wish their parents had "forced" them to take.
