Well I care. She can well afford to go to the beauty parlor once a week, but she says too much trouble. If it for the two kids, I'd leave her now. But 111 stay a few more years until the kids go off to college. That is, unless you can come up with some ideas to get her to change.

OES grand officers are honored By JANETTE BALDWIN And PHYLLIS CHAPPELL Approximately 200 members of the Order of Star and friends of Mrs. Carroll (Ruth) Sorenson, Worthy Grand Matron of New Mexico OES, and Mrs, James Jane) Barker, Grand Martha, attended a formal reception honoring the two grand officers.

Alamo Chapter No. 11 hosted the event held at the Masonic Temple. Blue satin cloths and net overlays covered the reception table and gift table. A silver compote adorned with blue and white flowers and red chilies centered the main table. Silver appointments complemented the setting.

Refreshments of tea sandwiches, cookies, nuts, and mints were served with coffee and fruit punch A silver sagebrush decoration accented with miniature blue birds, a red and silver bell adorned the gift table. Special guests for the afternoon were Marion A. Gates of Estancia, Worthy Grand Patron, and his wife, Ivy Gates, Grand Esther. Other special guests included Carroll McCleary, past grand patron, and his wife, of Anthony, N.M.; Mrs. Ruth Giles of Albuquerque, Grand Marshal; Thelma Thompson of Carlsbad, Grand Chaplain; Jenevia Crowder of Clovis, Grand Electa; and Mrs.

Anita Weber of Tularosa, Grand Warder. Worthy matrons and patrons of other chapters attending were Pete and Betty Lou McNair of Martha Chapter, Silver City; Bill Goddard and Alice Marshall of Bethany Chapter, Hobbs; Bettie Storey of Las Cruces, and Mrs. Helgie Craig of Alamo No. 11. Also attending was Daphne Thrasher of El Paso, Grand Martha of Texas.

She was accompanied by Mrs. Irene Akins, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrea W. Sorenson, all of El Paso.

Many assistant grand officers and committee members were also present. Background music for the occasion was presented by Misses Mary Beth Hathorn and Susan Spartz. Other Rainbow girls assisting with the courtesies were Karen Ashby, Terry Heath, Judy and Sherri Swanson, Jean Rabon, Donna Neilson, Denise Debra Soehlig, Pam and Christine Grove, all of Assembly No. 18. Those assisting from Assembly No.
