Three Are Hurt In Accident Near Bancroft Two Bancroft youths and aDes Moines man sustained injuries in a 2-car crash two miles south of Bancroft on highway 169 at 2 a. m. Sunday and were hospitalized at St. Ann hospital here. Injured were Donald H. Lappe, 18, and Richard McCarthy, 18, both of Bancroft, head lacerations, cuts and bruises; and Ed- ward C. Krzyzanowski, Des Moines, neck injury. The Des Moines driver was asleep in the rear of his station wagon, which was headed south about six feet off the west side of the highway and the Lappe car was headed north. Both vehicles were totally demolished, according to Patrolman Charles Bird who investigated, Lappe was charged with meeting and failing to turn right. Three mishaps were reported here. At 2:05 Saturday, a car driven by Allen L. Smith, 67, Algona, was backing out on East Call street and collided with a vehicle driven by Judith Kay Besch, 17, Whitte- more. Damage to the autos totaled $550 and the Algona man was charged with improper backing. Two minor mishaps occurred Friday, the first at 11:05 a. m. when cars driven by Nancy Marshall, 19, and Dorothy E. Muckey, 46, both of Algona, collided on State street. Damage to the Muckey vehicle was estimated at $90 while there was no damage to the other machine. At 3:40 p. m., Arthur E. Riedel, 68, was backing out on South Jones street and collided with a car driven by Dora E. Dremmel, 63. City police investigated the mishaps. Jury Delay Petit jurors are slated to report for the September term of district court here next Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 10 a. m. They were originally called for the same hour Oct. 3. A default judgment was granted to Dau's Garage for $411.05 from Darrell and Rita J. Green in court action last week. County Teachers To Meet Here A Kossuth county in-service meeting will be held for 285 public school teachers at Algona Tuesday, Oct. 4. Meetings will be held in four buildings of the local system. The sessions will run from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m.
