C. H. WALDRON The sanctuary of the Damascus Friends Church was the scene of the Saturday afternoon wedding of Miss Lana Lee Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hoffman of North Georgetown, and James Wesley Stanley of Canton, son of Mr and Mrs.

Earl Stanley of Beloit. Rev. David pastor of the Springfield Friends Church, and brother-in-law of the bridegroom, officiated at the double ring ceremony at 2 p.m. assisted by Rev. Edward Escolme.

Rev Ronald Spaulding, minister of music at the list Street Church of God in Canton, was soloist and Mrs. Kenneth Phillips presided at the organ. Escorted to an altifr which was decorated with vases of gladioli and pompons backed with palms and fernery and lighted with cathedral candelabra, and given in marr by her father, the bride was gowned in a floor length dress of white Chantilly lace. A scalloped Sabrina neckline jeweled with pearls and sequins topped the fitted long sleeved bodice. A back garland of roses above a flowing brush train graced the full line.

Her fingertip length veil of silk illusion was caught to a crown of iridescent sequins and pearls, and she carried a nosegay bouquet of white carnations and yellow pompons centered with a tiny glass bluebird and wore a sixpence in her shoe for Mrs. Roger Hull of Salem, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Miss Sandra Close, Miss Norma Mercer of Beloit, and Miss Peggy Jackron of Sebring. They were dressed in identical gowns of maize chiffon styled with softly shirred bodices, short sleeves and scoop necklines, with back bow details accenting the bouffant skirts accented with wide satin cummerbunds. They wore matching bow bandeaux hats with eye-lash veils and carried crescent arrangements of carnations in wicker baskets. Lana Jo Behner was flower girl in dress of white nylon.

Allen Stanley, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and ushering were Donald Hoffman, brother of the bride, Robert Beaver and Dale Geisberger. Bruce bouffant skirt with sprinkles of I Behner cousin of the bride, sequins edging the scalloped hem- was ringbearer. Homewood Ave. was hostess recently at a farewell party for her nephew, John Wiley who is leaving for his second year of college in Houston, Texas. Guests included Mr.

Marcus Rice and Ralph Jackson, all of Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Charles McConnell and Mr. and Mrs. John Hutchison and children, all of Grove City, Mr.

nd Mrs. Wilbur Gildersleeve of Sandy Lake. and Mr. and Mrs. James Barrow of Columbiana.

Lunch was served by the hostess, with Mrs. Rice assisting. MEMBERS OF THE United Board of Education and their wives held a dinner party Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Cope of Depot Road, honor ing Mr.

and Mrs. Dale Gates of Lisbon. Mr. Gates was executive head of United School for the past eight years. Fourteen places were laid at table centered with an arrangement of yellow and white flowers The evening was spent informally of Grange hall on Sunday.

Some 44 relatives attended the basket dinner. Officers in charge were Mrs. Charh'tte Stallsmith, president; and Mrs. John McGuire, secretary-treasurer. Adam Martin, 80, of Alliance was the oldest member present.

Horseshoes and other games were played. Next year the reunion will be held the second Sunday in August at the same place. DESCENDANTS of B. and Mrs. James Semple of Vine Ave. announced the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy Jean Semple, to Alvin Leslie Cover wnen they entertained Mrs. Pearl Cover and her daughter Patty of New Castle, Saturday. Miss Semple is a 1961 graduate of Salem Senior High School.

Her graduated from New Castle Senior High School in 1959. No date has been set for the wedding. MISS EILEEN HALL was recently honored at a bridal shower given by her sister, Mrs. Irene Halverstadt and Miss Pat Ehrhart. A pink parasol and sprinkling can adorned the gift table and pink miniature parasols decorated the cake which was banked by pink candles in holders. The bride-to-be received many gifts from relatives and friends. She was also guest of honor at a shower given earlier by her roommates at Kent State University, Miss Linda Peters of Will- and Miss Carol Guillerey of Bucyrus.

The 7:30 p.m. double ring ceremony took place before an altar decorated with schefflera and grape ivy backing vase arrangements of white gladioli and chrysanthemums. Mrs.

W. J. Hunston Canton presided at the punch bowl. Out of state guests registered were from Crete, Watseka, and Pittsburgh. The bride is a graduate of Salem High School and attended Bowling Green State University.

She is a graduate of Ray Vogue Art School of Chicago and employed as accountant by the Sekely Industrial Tool and Mfg. Inc. Mr. Bradley attended Salem High School a nd employed by Service Co. Following their honeymoon, for which the bride wore a dress of Hack and white taffeta accented with the corsage from her bridal bouuet, the couple will make their home at RD 1, Leetonia.
