lunlor Editors Qulx on BIBLE QUIZ ANGI.O SAX ON - CELTIC • JALTO-S QUESTION: Why do people speak different languages? ANSWER: The Bible relates that all men onee spoke the same language and got so arrogant that they started to build a tower, the tower of Babel, reaching to the sky. To put them in their place, the Lord scattered and so confounded them that they could no longer understand; one another's language. it was in some such way, no doubt, that language differences did develop. If separated from each other long enough, people always' develop language differences. You can see that today in the different kinds of English spoken by Americans and Britains. In: the old days, before radio and newspapers, these differences cropped up even more quickly and easily than today. But scientists, by studying the most important words in languages, can trace connections between them long after the people speaking them have forgotten how to understand each other. FOR YOU TO DO: Color this < picture, paete K en cardboard, and add it to your Bible collection. (Angela Bell of Oklahoma City wins $10 for this suggestion.
