SPRINGFIELD, 111. - Five more cities and two more coun-i ties are now collecting the city and county half-cent sales tax** to bring the total of cities to 1,- lOt and counties to 30. New cities ' are Crest Hill. Hoophole. Round Lake Heights, Browning and El- Vaston. New counties are McLean and Randolph. The April tax collections netted 1102 cities $4,420.955 and 48 counties, $231.091. The additional five cities arid two counties passed ordinances providing for collection of the tax but did not start collection until April 1. These collections. except for CYest Hill whose validity &<i an incorporated community is under challenge in the Will County Circuit Court, will not be distributed until mid July.
