Earl L. Rockwell SUN CITY Earl L. Rockwell, 72, a service manager 20 years for an Oldsmobile agency in St. Louis, died yesterday in Boswell Memorial Hospital. Mr.

Rockwell, 10315 Peoria a native of Alhambra, moved to Sun City in 1965 from Atlanta, Ga. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dorothea Carr of Atlanta; a brother, Chauncey; and two sisters, Mrs. Millard Fisher of Sun City and another in California. Services and burial will be in St.

Scruggs, 64, who died Thursday in Whipple Veterans Administration Center near Prescott, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the center's chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in the VA Cemetery there. Ruffner Funeral Home of Prescott announced. Mr.

Scruggs, a native of Mountain View, came to Arizona in 1942. He was a retired quarryman, having worked in rock quarries in the Ash Fork area. He had served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include two brothers; William Byrne of Clarkdale Wesley Scruggs of Cottonwood.

Mary L. Hathaway NOGALES Services for Mary Lucille Hathaway, 79, who died Thursday, will be at 2 p.m. today in Carroon Mortuary Chapel here. Burial will follow in Nogales City Cemetery. Mrs.

Hathaway, a native of Dodge City, was brought to the Sunnyside area in Cochise County when she was a year old. She was married to the late Will Hath away, a former state senator, in 1914 and they, the established present site a of the homestead Ha.thaway Ranch in Santa Cruz County just northeast of here. She is survived by five sons, Gaynor of Tacoma, Lincoln of Ventura, and Judge James D. Robert a former state senator, and Paul of Nogales; a brother, John R. McIntyre of Sunnyside; 20 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Two sons preceded her in death; Gregory, former superintendent of the Arizona Highway Patrol, who died in 1970, and Gilbert, who drowned in 1958 on the same day his father died of a heart attack. A native of Illinois, he moved here nine years ago from Park Ridge, Ill. 'He was employed 18 years by Motorola until retiring six years ago. He was a member of University Presbyterian Church in Tempe and a 50- year member of the Masonic lodge in Harvard, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Ronald R. of Scottsdale; two sisters out of state, and three grandchildren.

Gerald Johnson LEHI Services for Gerald Johnson, 47, will be at 9 a.m, today in the Papago Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latt Saints, east of Scottsdale. Burial will be in the Lehi Cemetery, Gibbons Tempe Mortuary announced. Mr. Johnson, 3146 N. Harris, Mesa, died Thursday In Phoenix Indian Medical Center.

A veteran of the Korean conflict, he had been, a high school custodian. He was born in 1 Phoenix. Lehi area survivors include his wife, LaRue; 10 children, Mrs: Shelia Tanner, Roselene, Laurie, Amanda, Kathy and Madzine Johnson, Gardell, Gerard, Garland and Kenny; a sister, Mrs. Frances Kisto; and a stepfather, Amos Richards; and two grandchildren. A Long Island, N.Y., and was graduated from Katherine Gibbs School in New York City.

She received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Northern Arizona University, and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honors society. She held a registered records administrator degree from Seattle University-Providence Hospital and was an accredited records teachnician. She was a member of the American and Medical Records Associations. Mrs. Hoyt served as medical records librarian for Flagstaff Community Hospital and for several years was medical records consultant for hospitals in Kingman, Grand Canyon, Williams, Flagstaff and Winslow.

She was active in the organization and operation of the Coconino County Emergency Medical Services Committee, working with Dr. C. Herbert Fredell in pioneering this program in northern Arizona and the state. Mrs. Hoyt was a member of the Flagstaff Symphony Guild 1 and had been active in the Arizona Heart Association and the Hozhoni Foundation.

She was a former Democratic precinct committeewoman. A former newspaper woman, she had worked on the Long Island Press. The Albany (N.Y.) Times Union and for the Associated Press. in New York City. Survivors include her husWilliam G.

Hoyt; two daughters, Mrs. Frederick Scholenberger of Redlands, and Mrs. Charles Andrews Glass of Eugene, a son, William G. Hoyt of Flagstaff; one sister and two brothers out of state, and two grandchildren. Charles B.

Leipold Charles B. Leipold, 78, who had been a machinist for the Fruehauf Trailer Corp. 12 years in Los Angeles until retiring to Phoenix 10 years ago, died Thursday in Maryvale Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Leipold, 3122 N.

40th Drive, was an Army veteran of World War a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Serra Retreat League at Malibu, Calif. He was born in Chicago. Survivors include a son, Charles of Canoga Park, two daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Sherman and Mrs. Lillian Nisbet of Phoenix; two sisters out of state; five grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren.

Vincent de Paul, 3140 N. 51st Ave. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetry. Ruby I. Mayberry GLENDALE--Ruby Irene Mayberry, 60, who had served as a cook in the Navy in World War II from 1943 to 1945 and was a waitress here, died Tuesday in Highland Manor Nursing Home.

Miss Mayberry, 5619 W. State, a native of Duquoin, came to Glendale in 1938 from Dodge City, Kan. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Ida Mayberry; and a sister Mrs. Ruth Myers of Glendale; two brothers, Keith of Phoenix and Andrew of Mesa; and a sister of California.

Doerksen was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Phoenix, a Sunday School superintendent and teacher in his church and active in Camp Verde churches, including choir singing. He previously lived three years in the Valley and was. graduated from Glendale High School. A native of Jansen, he returned to Arizona and Camp Verde in 1964 from Madrid, Neb. Survivors include his wife, Marian; two sons, Jerry and Wayne; and two daughters, Gwen and Twila of Camp Verde; and a sister in California.

Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. tomorrow in the First Mennonite Church, 1612 W. Northern, Phoenix. The funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Camp Verde United Methodist Church.

Youth is killed in gun accident CHANDLER A youth was accidentally shot to death Thursday night when a revolver fired as it was being handied by a friend, investigators said yesterday. The victim was identified as Andrew. Anthony DeLeon McQueen.

Chandler police said De, Leon and another youth were visiting at the home of a friend, Alvaro Godinez, 17, of 298 W. Fairview, when the shooting occurred.
