Ma* lone could have saved WmselTiM' the governor embarrassment and Congressman Blatnik considerable: inconvenience and expense if he had only asked a few intelligent questions and looked at the official Highway Commission records." The three Republican commissioners also stated: "Mr. Malone's report to the gov* ernor was made without prior consultation with other members of the commission. He did not take opportunity to familiarize himself with the commission's position. It. is unfortunate that Mr. Malone failed to do this. . . .His only trouble was that he made a mistake by looking for the Loveland interchange on the east-west route of No. 6 instead of on the north- south route of No. 75 where it was originally planned. "Some are wondering whether or not Mr. Malone knows how to read a highway map." The three commissioners said the Loveland Interchange "is a part of the Council Bluffs to Missouri Valley north-south route and was included in the hearing Oct 3, 1956, and subsequently approved by the Bureau of Public Roads Feb. 18, 1957." They said the right-of-way purchase questioned by Malone was approved by the commission and the Bureau of Public Roads after careful study. 320 ACRES, FAIR IMPROVE- ments, within 15 miles of Carroll, Also two quarter sections.
