Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ver Hoef were hosts at an Open House coffee held at their home Friday evening for members of the Central Reformed Church, honoring Rev. and Mrs. Norman Van Heukelom from Hudsonville, Mich. The latter spent the weekend here, as he in considering a call from the local church. Dave Broek, who has been ill for many years due to a kidney ailment, and who has been on a kidney machine for the past 18 months, had a kidney transplant Tuesday evening at the Veteran's hospital in Tucson, Ariz., where he and Mrs. Broek are spending the winter months. The kidney was donated by the parents of a motorcycle accident victim. Mrs. Fred Cleveringa and Mrs. Sam Schutt returned home by plane Thursday,having spent a three week visit with their sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Borgman at Santa Maria, Cal. Coming home with them was Betty Borgman of Cincinnati, Ohio who had been staying with her sister, Grace Borgman in Santa Maria, since Christmas, when two of her sisters passed away there. Alsocom- ing home with them was Mrs. Ed Mouw, who has been visiting her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Van Es and family in Buena Park.
