SO, 1m Coup/e Wed 55 Years Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer of Whlttemore will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary with an open house in St. Paul's Lutheran church parlors Sept. 25 between the hours of 2 and 4:30 p. m. No invitations have been issued, but all friends and relatives of the honored couple are invited to attend. They request that no gifts be given. Hosts for the social event are their children, Mrs. Erwin Bruhn, Lawrence Meyer, Mrs. Edwin Greinert, Mrs. William Ostwald and Mrs. Bert Seely. PERSONALS MR. AND MRS. Ben Herbst are here from Anaheim, Calif, visiting the respective parents, Mrs. Olive Herbst and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Williams and other relatives. Her brother Jack Williams came from Des Moines for the weekend to visit them. He is a student at Drake University. They drove out and are driving back Wednesday. MRS; WILLIAM Dau Sr., Mrs. C. R. McQuiston and Mrs. James Hinton went to Spencer Friday to attend the Clay County Fair, especially to see the floral arrangements. MR. AND MRS. Tom Frankl and Mr. and Mrs. William Dau, Sr. went to Omaha to see the showing of the new Oldsmobiles. Enroute home they stopped at Walnut to see Mrs. Dau's sister, Mrs. Alma Sornsen. MR. AND MRS. Nat Bangs were visited last weekend by Mr. and Mrs. Owen Fleming and Kate, Des Moines. MR. AND MRS. Gerald Bomgaars were visited last Monday by cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Royer and Susan of Ferry. MR. AND MRS. Harry Barton were recently visited by Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Dannewitz, La Junta, Colo. They are former Algonans. MR. AND MRS. Ervin Van Haaften, teachers in the school system here went to Sac City to attend the open house celebra- Sept. 18, for Mr. and Mrs. Lentils Carrels, parents of Mrs. Van Haaften. It was the silver anniversary of the honorees. THE THIMBLE club met Sept. 12 at the home of Mrs. W. C. Taylor with 10 members present. • MRS. AL Wagner of Wesley spent a few days at Fort Dodge with her son Ben and wife and all came to Good Samaritan Home Thursday to see Al Wagner. The Ben Wagners were returning to Fort Dodge after taking Mrs. Wagner back to Wesley. DR. AND MRS. John Kenefick have been at McGregor Minn, closing their cottage on Big Sandy Lake for the winter. KATHY DERMAND, after six years at the University of Iowa. during which time she was assistant to Prof. Paul Engle of the Englsih department, has accepted a position at the American College of Obstetricians and Geneogology at Chicago. She spent her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Demand. MR. AND MRS. Lloyd Muckey took the latter's sister, Mrs. William Comp, to her home at Winterset last week and enroute home stopped at Ankeny for a visit with Mrs. Muckey's son, Russell Pickett and family. Wait?
