SHRINE MEETING A meeting of Shriners was held to initiate a candidate and the work was put on by the main team, the drill team of Sioux City. Othe towns participating were Algona, Armstrong, Buffalo Center, Burt, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Garner, Humboldt, Plover and West Bend. One hundred and twenty-five men were present and lunch was served at the close of the evening. - o MOTHER IS 93 Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bomgaars spent Sept. 5 at Sioux City with the former's mother, Mrs. H. H. Bomgaars, who was 93 that day. She is a resident at a rest home there and is in good health except for cataracts. - o NEWCOMERS CLUB Newcomers club met Sept. 19 at the Algona hotel at 7:45 o' clock. Hostesses were Mr. Jason Etherington and Mrs. Dennis Jergenson. Mrs. Dudley was in charge of the program. - o ATTEND WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. William Baker attended the wedding Sept. 11 at Fort Dodge of Vickey Patrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Patrick and Robert Rykhus. The bride is a grand-niece of Mrs. Baker. The services were held in the Presbyterian church. - o DELPHIAN MEETING Delphian Society is meeting this afternoon (Sept. 20) with Mrs. Roscoe Mawdsley. - o- FIRST MEETING The first meeting of the season for the P.E.O. sisterhood is Wednesday evening at the Country Club. Hostesses are Mrs. Harold Erickson, Mrs. Lloyd Robinson and Mrs. Dean Parrott. Husbands of the members will be guests. - o BRIDGE CLUB Wle Hour bridge club will meet Sept. 28 with Mrs. Delia McCullough. FRANK CINK had surgery at St. Ann. CHRIS JENSEN was visited Tuesday by his niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Roy McLay, Galltton, Mo. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Shaw. Mr. Jensen fell several months ago and broke his hip.
